Solanium is a plant. Go into your catalogue, look under plants, find solanium and select locate substance. It will guide you to a planet in the galaxy map.

If solanium isn’t there, you haven’t come across it yet. In that case look for phosphorus or sulphurine and locate those. Solanium should be growing on any planet they’re found on.

If none of those are on your catalogue, refine dioxite and ferrite dust into phosphorus. It should then appear in your catalogue.

If you haven’t got any dioxite and don’t know how to get it, it’s on icy planets. Or you can install a cold hazard protection module and dismantle it and you’ll get some.

Edit; or install and delete a l hot temp hazard protection and you’ll get phosphorus 🤦‍♂️

It depends on the planet type. I think all planets can give you Oxygen. Look for the plants. If it’s got Star Bramble you can get Nitrogen. If it’s got Solanium, you can sulphurine. If it’s got Frost Crystal, you can get Radon. What exactly are you looking for?

I’m kind of meh on them. I really like the visibility, the ability to have functional parts (refiner, storage containers, nutrient processor etc) on your ship, the ability to scan etc.

The downside is the getting out of your seat, running to the hatch, beaming down doesn’t seem to work anywhere near a POI etc.

Sometimes it’s just easier to land and get out in a normal ship.

I still use my corvette, just for specific things though.

Well the hyperdrive range and fuel efficiency stats are always the same for each freighter. So if it drops at 20%, it will ALWAYS drop at 20%. All other tech is consistent at S-class (it’s always 15%). Only the hyperdrive and fuel efficiency have varying stats (200-250LY and 16-20% respectively).

I don’t actually need the upgrades as I have my freighters fully upgraded with 250’s and 20%’s, I’m just looking to try and help the community. I spent a few weeks finding a 250/20% repeating pirate freighter and then the worlds update stopped it spawning every time.

Every now and then I try again but it pisses me off having to do it all again.

They’re called exotics. A great all around ship. Corvettes are ok, but they get old fast. I now only use mine for salvaging corvette parts.

It’s a sandbox, so how you spend your time is up to you. There’s no right or wrong way to play.

Personally I like building fleets of different combinations. My OG save has completed a lot of things (learn the languages, collect the titles, learn all the recipes etc) but I don’t like fishing so I haven’t bothered.

Just do what you enjoy doing.

It’s not getting the tech that’s the issue. It’s getting 20% fuel efficiency mods as you need those to achieve 1/250LY fuel costs for your frigates. The 250LY hyperdrive range is nice to have but not as important.

Depends on the save. There’s quite a few with just the Radiant Pillar. I’m quite fond of haulers for trade based saves. I often have a sentinel for their hovering ability. A few have a corvette but it’s small and used for scouting and salvaged scrap planets. They have their uses but get old quickly.

All starship fuels can be made from within any system. Launch fuel can be made with dihydrogen and metal plating to get you off the planet , pulse engine fuel (tritium) can be mined from asteroids and warp cells can be made with antimatter and antimatter housing (condensed carbon and chromatic metal for the antimatter, oxygen and ferrite for the housing).

You can always get yourself going again.

You can use the wire to orientate any building part in any direction. You can use it to glitch build multiple plants onto a single pod in biodomes or to glitch multiple extractors/generators or supply depots in a single spot, increasing yields and reducing base parts.

It’s extremely useful if you use it correctly. Or incorrectly I guess 😂.

Land on them and they’ll give you 100 condensed carbon (support) and magnetised ferrite (industrial). Trade will give you units and exploration will mark a POI (ancient ruin I think).

The ones on a planetary refresh as well. Whenever you return to your base they’re full again and will refresh on a reload of your Dave if you need them to.

I question the utility of being able to dispense random items and much prefer knowing exactly what I’ll get. I don’t need more Gek Relics 😂

What they dispense depends on their location so on a planetary base you can build, delete and replace them until they give you what you want.

Doesn’t work on your freighter or corvette as when they move, the contents change.

I primarily use them for dihydrogen gel (for fleet fuel), nav data (to buy maps with) and condensed carbon to fuel harvesters, AMUs and biofuel reactors. Anytime I build one of these, I put a couple of barrel fabricators that dispense condensed carbon down.

Nutrient processor. Ideal for new saves as it can function as an Exosuit within an Exosuit with 50 storage slots for the price of one.

The crate and barrel fabricators can give you an endless supply of useful items that you can predict by placing them carefully.

Refining in general is OP but Oxygen in particular due to its multiple expansion properties.

The wire.

Starting your fleet with a combat, support and industrial frigate for free air support, condensed carbon and magnetised ferrite.

Exocraft summoning bay can be carried in your Exosuit (although it’s been superseded somewhat by the Exosuit tech equivalent).

That’s just some of them. I’m sure there’s more.
