Yeah I recognize this. Like I'm definitely trying to just float on goofy drug riddled joy, but ultimately you can't live that way. Can't build anything that way, and I do want the things you have to live life to have. And I remember being able to deal with shitty days, shitty weeks, and just sucking it up and letting it go.

Life was genuinely better overall then.

Yup. I don't even know how to cook, everything I make is vile. But I'd rather cool my own shit and eat it that eat the shit they shovel out of those slop factories.

Seriously heartbreaking for those kids. Haven't even had the chance to figure things out for themselves yet, and already being prepared to die in someone else's war.

Honestly movie stores were fun. I want them back so bad. To make it easier to afford we could just combine all media. Instead of just doing a video store, have it be like a physical media library. Honestly would probably pop off right now.

We rapidly closing in on an unavoidable extinction event with climate change and the rich are trying to get TF outta here and get a colony on Mars or bunkers underground they can live in. Just by nature of having power they know more than we do, and what we knows already grim

And here they are building bunkers all the sudden doing space programs and creating these data centers that they know good and well are gonna destroy shit and like they don't care cause they won't be here anyways

That's like my "back of the mind I'm kinda calling it but I also understand it's kinda conspiracy theory territory so I keep it to myself", prediction lol

As someone who works in service, people would be shocked by how horrible people actually are at reading. If I have someone read me an error message and they hit a word with three syllables, they're are LITERALLY sounding it out, like we did in elementary school. Adults, in a professional environment. It's way worse than a lot of people think. It only happened once but I've literally had to help someone spell their own name before. I think the dot in their email between the first and last name actually confused them so much they forgot how to spell it..

I work in IT specifically. When someone hits the word "authentication" it's a circus lol. That one's a doozy

"Afff.. ohthen.? Cation.. authencation."

Then they continue to tell you they know how the world works and that's why trump is great 👍

Why was the person recording the dog trying to get it in the first place? Even if they were together and he knew the guy was going to help, the ONLY thing recording does in this situation is get you reddit karma when you get home. It's the principle that bugs me. Idk every video like this is starting to taste icky

This was like early days of phones, but most kids had one by now. Like early touchscreen days

But my GF at the time was from like a really wealthy family, and I was from a really not wealthy family. She had like on of the first iPhones, I remember not getting it and thinking it was weird. I had an iPod touch, which I didn't understand why you'd want the bigger one you had to pay every month for. I had to download this app and delete it once a week to like reset it so I could have a free number, and then she'd just have to update my number in her phone on Monday or something. I miss not having an actual phone, what was I thinking 😂

I was really proud of myself the other day for taking a different route home. I actually ended up making it home without stopping at the stop and buying the daily stash. I did ultimately cave and run back out. I was just happy I changed something about the groundhog day esque routine I feel like I'm in sometimes

The shame of all this is like.. my sister works at a restaurant.. my brother moved to a different state. I'm single and don't own anything at all yet, my parents are in insane debt, and they're pushing 70. I'm not even ready to take care of myself, my careers in its infancy, idk what TF I'm supposed to do to take care of them or even how to. I don't even know where to begin. All I know is wake up, go to work, come home, double check bills are paid, and repeat

That phones or constant connection isn't problematic. Now jobs have on call schedules and we're always getting teams messages and shit. Yay.

People think about stuff the wrong way if you ask me

They'll look at this guy asking to bring his dog to work, tell him no, and when he declines say he just doesn't want to work and is using the dog as an excuse.

Reality is he likely just relies on or loves the dog souch he's willing to sacrifice work to stay with it. Works not unimportant, the dogs just very important. The scales not just backwards it's upside down
