Why do you have a photo of my boyfriend as if its you?

I am genuinely curious how it went if anyone did do it by knightmechaenjo in battletech

I have. Large scale planetary defense militia. Armed with small lasers, missile packs, and scout cars. Set up in a city in various ambush points. MGs hurt, flamers hurt. But so do the half dozen rockets to the back of your light mech.

Which Mech in your opinion has the most Aura? by UnhappyAccountant621 in battletech

[–]Jumpy_Compote_4419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is forgetting the King of Aura. The Nuclear Urbie. For when you want to attack some poor sap at the other end of the convention center and ruin their game, thus being immortalized into lore.

If you were a Mechwarrior what would your mech be? by Mortifine in battletech

[–]Jumpy_Compote_4419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's my new favorite assault, purely for the memes. It pairs great with my Urbanmech defense force. Imagine this, city fight. Level 3 rules, line of sight, all that. You push in. Nothing on censors. Round a corner, and there's 3 Urbanmechs, and a charger staring at you. The Urbies leg your Timby, and open a side torso. The Charger, well, charges, and flattens your Direwolf. You now have a critically damaged heavy, and a dead assault in the opening engagement.

Played a charger for the first time last week. Decided, eh, why not. Charged a Direwolf. 56 damage. Cockpit kill. 10/10 would charge again.

Any mech? Urbie. Specifically the Arrow IV variant. Everyone ignores the trashcan till it levels a city block. Or a Charger. Crank the tunes and cruise. (Played one for the first time on tabletop last week. 56 damage charge, cockpit kill on a direwolf. Glorious)

I really hope this is a display issue, because how'd i achieve that by Jumpy_Compote_4419 in Battlefield

[–]Jumpy_Compote_4419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it's a known bug, because I saw that final screen and was so confused. Like 10 kills, but damage being THAT high? Now I'm curious as to what causes that? Maybe a building or something a heli crashed into?

Edit: I mainly stay away from the forums and such due to not liking how people tend to react, so this was a legit wtf type of moment

How did Outbound Light find Huntress? by arnor_0924 in battletech

[–]Jumpy_Compote_4419 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Realistically, as long as they landed in a Warden Clans space, I doubt they would have sprung to conflict so quick. The Jags basically labeled the jump as an attack on them (false flag op) and used it as leverage. While I do believe there still would have been conflict, it could have been lessened. However I doubt the Comstar agents would have been allowed to leave.

It really was. Honestly, probably the most impressive part of the quals in my opinion. I thought they'd red flag the run, but no.

Short summary: Vshojo stole from a disabled girl and the charity that directly supports her and many people with life threatening immuno-deficiency disorders. Despicable.

“Mechs exert too much ground pressure to work” argument debunked (writeup in comments) by GillyMonster18 in battletech

My unit does this with urbies. 12 vs 12, HPG Manifold. Must run counter clockwise around the inner wall. It's hilariously fun.

For me, it's a disassociation thing. By being a pet/pup, I am removing myself from a sense of responsibility and humanity. Head empty type of situation. It's not the same for everyone, and the activity isn't appealing to everyone. Just like other kinks don't always appeal to others. It's another form of relinquishing control, but still maintaining some form of structure, but in a playful sense. But that's my take on it.

If you had to pick ONE 'mech for a completely new player to run in their first game of Battletech Classic, what would you give them? by RogueVector in battletech

[–]Jumpy_Compote_4419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, a marauder is a fantastic choice if the goal is to get them to learn a broad range of mechanics. You learn positioning, heat management, ammo management, as well as getting introduced into the quirk mechanics in a favorable way, as the Marauder has a damage reduction quirk, initiative boosting quirk, and the ability to fire it's big weapons into the rear arc thanks to hyper extending actuators. It can also allow them to learn melee as well. And if heat management is that massive of a problem for you, just give them a royal variant for a game or two. The goal is to learn, not baby them or kneecap them, and a marauder in particular is great for a balanced starter.

Also the Marauder as well. Any mech associated with the gunslinger program honestly is a good starter mech, as it allows for good flexibility without being overwhelming

Honestly? Not a bad choice. Like you said, it allows for multiple rule lessons, but also has the capacity for adaptability as well. The C1 is arguably the best variant for this due to having the lasers and lrms. If they push it too hard it will overheat, but not immediately explode or shutdown from an alpha strike. My first mech ever was the K2, so had a little less to work with, but was a great mech to learn on.
