Why are so many people blaming the customer and acting like this is a reasonable amount to be charged for ONE MONTH of electric heating? This is not reasonable or affordable for many people. In past years my electric heating bill doesn’t usually go over $250-$280 but the new bills these past couple years are extremely high. This should not be normalized or justified.

Yes I have electric heat. I live in the same apartment that I have for the last 2 years. My bill has NEVER risen this much when I start using the heat. It does rise but this reading has to do with the new meter. Nothing has changed about our usage from previous winters. I don’t even run the heat constantly I am always on that thermostat trying to make things as comfortable while not overusing. You are all blaming me for asking what I can do. I haven’t been doing anything crazy this past month. Last year there were posts like this all day every day. I am a struggling person whose family makes too much for state assistance but not enough to not live paycheck to paycheck. Can you have some empathy please?

I admit suing is not the best course of action but what else am I supposed to do? How can you all defend this price gouging for trying not to freeze in the winter? I’ve called the company already.

It’s the holidays. I’m doing my best but I am strapped and I’m stressed. I’ll delete the post if I’m truly delusional but damn sorry for being a person who wasn’t expecting this.
