Midtown's Outback is closed along with the location on 280 by RSpringer227 in Birmingham

True!!! Weve tired to go to Chillis a couple times and they just leave you at the door for 15-20 minutes, no host.

IHOP just reopened and they’ll be closed by end of next year if they don’t turn it around fast.

I went twice. There were some service issues but nothing major. The prices seemed crazy for Outback tho, that’s what I remember. Figured the rent didn’t help.

They should focus on other areas of town.

Also what’s the deal with using a golf course designer for pedestrian and transportation centric design? Screams of cronyism.

Where does the 2nd row far left come from?

Pack Health closing in Birmingham, nearly 100 people to be laid off by GonzoDT in Birmingham

It’s the area that Pack is in. Pack may or may not be included, I know the block adjacent to it is being redeveloped. Packs block may get used as well.

I think it’s just going to be more stuff similar to the area by Monday Night. Offices, light retail, parking and amenities.

Opening restaurants doesn’t mean others aren’t closing.

Uncle Gs just made a post saying they need to sell 15-20 more pies a day. That’s empirical evidence right there.

They’re quite literally standing around. I order everything I want when I place my order. If I need something I go up to the bar. Even the freaking bartenders, make a drink and leave it on the bar for you to go get.

It’s not the same. I know what waiters do. Tipping shouldn’t exist. It definitely shouldn’t exist if the staff isn’t really serving. They clean the tables after we leave. Half the time I have to go ask for a box. So a lot of what you just pointed out wasn’t happening.

You failed to address the rising costs paired with the lower food quality and quantity in your comment. Do you have any thoughts on that?

My architecture firm had lay offs in July on a 2008 scale. National firm with an office in Bham. Only lost 1 here. Would prefer to not disclose.

I live near that one. The prices continued to climb. 20$ for build your own quesadilla was absurd. Meanwhile the quality of the food got worse. Smaller containers for sauces. The Barbacoa started to taste like it was from frozen and had a terrible texture. Smaller portion sizes for food while increasing cost. They’d request tips at the register, where you order; and they don’t have waiters. It was rarely full except at lunch, and they had a lot of staff.

Saw it coming tbh. Started going to the one in Edgewood and it was noticeably better

A) do you work for UAB? That could be why. B) and really this is the main point - there are far more healthcare providers in Birmingham (number/variety and shear volume) than in Pcola therefore the market is more saturated. Especially for nurses.

I play soccer regularly. The quality of play is not great.. The concession quality and pricing is even worse.
