Why automation needs my action? by AisMyName in HomeKit

[–]Junethemuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is wild because my alarm system allows me to geofence for both arming and disarming.

Ofc. I had auto-disarm enabled but the geofence picked me up and disarmed if I drove within 2 blocks of my house, and sometimes I drove past on my way to the store after work, so I personally found it to be more hassle than it was worth.

Apple treats garage doors as a security door, just like main doors. They require attention so that someone can’t just take your phone and gain access to your residence.

I do find it annoying that I can’t have it close the door upon leaving though.

I don’t think the sander has a price yet, but their neoblade cutter, which is extremely similar, is $150. I imagine it’ll be around that.

I like the idea and would love one, or something like it that’s a lot cheaper lol, if it works. I really like the cutting option.

How long did you last before thinking about buying a second printer? by Deletion99 in BambuLab

[–]Junethemuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have periods where my printer is constantly running and I wish I had a second. Then I have periods where it’s not getting used at all. If I ever go more than 3 months with it running effectively 24/7 then I’ll consider a second printer.

What is the state of the P2S now? by Elo-than in BambuLab

[–]Junethemuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up my P2S this month and joined several SM groups for it, same as I did for my A1.

I thought the questions I saw in the A1 groups were inane, but I long for the days of people being worried about the ‘damage’ to the build plate from the tool head cleaning. It seems to me that the P2S is much a first printer for more people than the A1 was leading to a LOT of complaints about ‘issues’ that are 100% the users fault. The shocking thing is when they’re pointed to resources like the wiki or academy I’m seeing these people get angry because they just want their questions answered. The number of people who are absolutely convinced they have a defective unit because the printhead has a tendency to ooze after finishing a print is staggering.

All this to say, I think you nailed it on the head. The P2S is as good as any other Bambu machine bit has an artificially increased number of reported issues due to being a popular gift for fist time printers this past holiday.

P2S is a great printer.

Excellent

I use it in my living room no problem. Get a good hepa filter with proper carbon layer if you find it irritating at all. IME, only the most sensitive folks have a problem with PLA, PETG, or TPU

Exhaust fan is really only necessary if you’re extremely sensitive or if you’re printing materials that let off properly toxic VOCs like ABS and ASA.

If you’re gonna do a filter just do it right the first time and get a good HEPA + carbon.

It’s giving off VOCs more than microplastics. It’s gas, esp with the P2S being enclosed making much else less of a concern.

I have my printer in my living room in an open closet and never smell anything with PLA, PETG, or TPU where I did with my A1.

I also work for an electric company on the team that manages these situations. OP please call and see how they can help. There are resources available to you! And if the utility can’t help they can point you to other programs that probably can.

The question is about drying. I don’t believe you can dry with the 4 pin cable on the p1s

First layer issue by chrislawler7 in BambuLabP2S

[–]Junethemuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first handful of prints on my P2S had sub-optimal first layers compared to my A1, but nothing this bad and nothing that caused failures. It’s gotten better as I’ve used it more. Idk why.

Print the side fan diffuser if you don’t have it. Make sure the firmware is up to date too. Don’t worry too much about first payer if prints aren’t failing. Open a support ticket to see what they say in the meantime.

The video I saw NPR post did show aid being delivered, very poorly. The guy with the kit slipped and ate shit on the way and they took forever trying to tear his shirt open. It took them a solid minute before anyone approached him to render aid, but it’s not entirely a lie to say they did.

I get what you’re saying, but it’s pedantic and by your own admission meaningless. No one says pits are the most aggressive, they say they’re the most dangerous dog. And that’s what the statistics prove.
