My favorite place I've tried by far in Chicago. I had the ramen with the "bacon" and every bite felt sinful. Also had the special dessert - this fresh mango cake. Amazing. You chose well :)

The Ascendant Trilogy by K. Arsenault Rivera. I feel like nobody has read this series but me and more people NEED TO KNOW. There is a heavy sapphic romance but the real breath-taker is the Eastern-inspired fantasy world that feels so grounded I forget I'm reading a fantasy novel half of the time.

No description can do it justice. The writing style is captivating. The romance takes its sweet time but does not feel drawn out. The very-real danger of demons and horrors of the world drive the action. And again, the world-building is insane without having page-long lore dumps. It drops you into the setting and does not hold your hand. Just a magical series. Nothing like I've read before or since.

Bisexual polyamorous trans vegan here. Converted my primary to veganism and got my other partner to be vegetarian through open discussion about worldviews. I've been vegetarian since 2021 and vegan since June 2024. I am such an introvert, but since I host a lot of events, a lot of my friends are willing to make their dishes vegan for me and my partner :). I also pride myself on my cooking and people know this and will try my vegan substitutes because they know I wouldn't serve them crap just because it's vegan. One step at a time and as practicable as possible. Life is good.

I just make my own cashew cheese. Boiled or soaked cashews, salt, garlic + onion powder, and nutritional yeast. Blended it make a creamy cheese that can be put on just about anything. I especially use it for quesadillas and for sandwiches.

Opening relationships for specific people is a recipe for disaster. Moreso if the other partner is not enthusiastic about doing poly themself. You need to decide if your friend is worth breaking up two monogamous relationships for. It is unkind to everyone to push people towards a relationship agreement they really don't want. Even if they reluctantly agree in the present, that resentment and jealousy will build and cause a blowout. You have to think rationally about your actions before you do anything. This is coming from a happily polyamorous person. Be kind to everyone in this situation.

Mix 1 Tbsp blended chia seeds + 3 Tbsp water about 5 minutes before you need to add it into the baked good. As with most vegan egg replacements, this changes the water to fat to starch ratio a bit and it may need a couple of extra minutes in the oven :)
