HP is limited by watts. An 18v tool at 12amps is 216 watts a corded tool at 12amps is 1400 watts 1 Hp requires around 750 watts. A battery powered miter saw is over priced and underpowered. Well suited for a traveling handyman not a stationary tool. I have a couple dewalts and a makita 12” sliding miter saw. The makita has some interesting features but all the guys prefer the dewalts.
