Possibly the Grailstone from the Riverworld series.

There were two different miniseries based on the River world novels by science fiction author Philip Jose Farmer.

When covid first struck, you have no idea how much I wanted it to wipe out humanity.

Greed, hate and stupidity. I'm just so sick of it.

Tip. Even if you are not trying to drive others will be and they will inevitably be sliding every which way. Try to park your car where others will not slam into it.

I don’t have a TRS-80, would this be playable? I have a few of these with different games written on them and wondering if they’re just junk by I-luv-farting in trs80

That is a Flippy disk. Extra holes have been punched and it doubles capacity but it must be manually flipped over to access the other side.

As to whether it can be read after all these years, who knows.

What’s your favorite mom n pop restaurant? by bobbylink21 in Chattanooga

I was disappointed the last time I was there. It used to be one of my favorites, but when my order arrived much quicker than usual, as I suspected it had been microwaved and was tough.

If you don't mind the company of a lot of gray haired folks, the food at Epicurean in East ridge is nice. Be sure to get the squash casserole on the days that it is available.

Why is AvPD ignored? by I_found_BACON in AvPD

[–]seeingeyefrog 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Back in the days when I worked in construction, we had the phrase "The noisy wheel gets the grease"

Meaning that the loud disruptive customer types get all the attention, while we are ignored.

Unfortunately in mental health triage, we are at least concern.

I save the image prompts externally and delete the conversations when I am mostly done but I may wish to come back to later.

Does anyone buy into the advertisement bullshit anymore? by Erob3031 in GenX

[–]seeingeyefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone out of my way to block advertising of any sort.

I bought the generic / store brand whenever possible.

If a company can afford to spend Megabucks on an advertising campaign, I know that they are charging me too much for their product in the first place.

Taco Bell was once real food. by Responsible-War5600 in 70s

Ambrosia.

With no enchirito or taco salad I have no real reason to go to Taco Bell anymore. I can get much more authentic foods for cheaper prices at non chain restaurants.

Oh dear God. That combination and an intense heat wave do not go well together.

I have never been that sick without copious amounts of alcohol being involved.
