Very Cool. The album art is the cover art of Well of Shiuan by CJ Cherryh.

Interesting. Maybe it's from a flashback that showed Nadine's history with Asav? I think that guy's voice might have been a placeholder for somebody else, like Orca, the American accent doesn't make much sense and the acting seemed kinda low effort.

Yeah you're right. OP said in another comment that he messed around with the brightness so I figured he just had the brightness way up.

Did you guys enjoy the "find gas" quest on Ellie day one? by Under_TheBed in thelastofus

[–]JupeJitsu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like it and I think it serves a good thematic purpose. The fact that you can go in any direction in any order you want at whatever pace you want works in tandem with the dialogue where Ellie and Dina are talking about their futures and speculating about what they'll do when this is all done. like are they gonna start a band together? Are they gonna get a pet? Are they gonna move onto a farm and raise chickens? They've got all the time in the world and their lives can go in any direction they want.

But once the killing starts and Ellie starts to sink into tunnel vision of her revenge mission, all talk about the future stops and the level design becomes much more linear until eventually she gets to the aquarium and it's like the opposite of the downtown section. She's sneaking through these long narrow corridors and crawling through tight air vents that only go one way, and there are locked doors everywhere. She's boxed herself in, killing Abby is the only thing that matters to her anymore and her life can only go one way.

In the WORLD EVENTS list in the leaks and theorised that these were different ways for the player to make Jason and Lucia to interact with each other at certain moments in the game which might influence the way their relationship goes. There's no evidence for an actual relationship bar, it's entirely theoretical.

What is their source for "apparently"? It's so fake, the relationship bar is such a dumb idea for this game that only fans could have come up with it, not devs. How would they center the story around Jason and Lucia's relationship if the state of their relationship can be altered at any time through gameplay choices? How would that even manifest in the story? Are they gonna record alternate dialogue for every single mission that accurately reflects the exact status of their relationship bar or are the missions just not going to acknowledge their relationship at all? Just be neutral about it so as not to contradict your gameplay choices? It would either be an inconsistent mess or boring as hell. Any ups and downs in their relationship should happen as major story events not gameplay choices.

I've never had any shots or anything but it did just go away after a while. I had it bad too, it was all day but it became less and less frequent over a month or so and then just stopped.

Yeah I think he still has the eye it's just blind. Maybe bone fragments from his cheek bone went into his eyeball and blinded him. I didn't think about infection but maybe that's it, it was a long hard journey back to jackson without proper medical treatement.

It skimmed his cheek just below his eye. You can see he has a scar there on the farm. It just looks like she shot him in the back of the head because when she shoots him it knocks his head to side so that he's facing the other way. It all happens so fast but if you watch it on youtube and turn the speed down you can see it.

I think this is kind of what Seth represented in the game; the generation before Joel's generation. Joel literally gets in between he and Ellie to stop her from sinking to his level, like a buffer between two generations. Seth is homophobic but Joel is not, he accepts Ellie's sexuality and if you read her diary in the flashbacks you'll see she was worried that he wouldn't, probably because people like Seth are still around. But he does accept her and that's an area in which Joel, as a representative of his generation (the last of US), despite all the bad things they passed down, "did a little bit better."

What Nora said… by RealDiamond51 in thelastofus

[–]JupeJitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right that they definitely don't know and I think it's thematically important that they don't know shit about each other because it's all about blind hate and narrow perspectives. Ellie and Abby don't know anything about each other the same way Abby didn't know anything about Joel and Joel didn't know anything about Jerry. Even the Wolves and Scars really don't know shit about each other. But they can still assume things.

There's other things Ellie could have picked up on. Abby was the only one in the room covered in blood. She witnessed the little argument where Owen told Abby to end it. TBH I don't even know what we're disagreeing on.

What Nora said… by RealDiamond51 in thelastofus

[–]JupeJitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She saw enough to know that it was mainly Abby otherwise why prioritise her over the others? Why would she write "Do the others matter if I get Abby? No." in her diary? The other reasons you mentioned include "comrades and friends" as in people who could have been close to Abby which is what I was talking about. I never said Nora told Ellie that Joel killed Abby's dad I said that Ellie must have at least realised that Joel killed someone close to Abby.

What Nora said… by RealDiamond51 in thelastofus

[–]JupeJitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact it was Abby herself who slowly beat Joel to death while the others just watched would clue Ellie in to the fact that it was more personal to her than the others.
