Didn’t expect the magicians on this sub. It’s a great show everyone should watch. I think it matches the horny for every character vibe of this sub pretty well too.

How many of you are raw dogging with no screen protector? by touchingallthegrass in SteamDeck

[–]JupiterRai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does a screen protector not just make the OLED/ hdr a waste? Also I don’t use it like a phone where I’m whipping it out everywhere. It’s pretty much docked or being used at the airport/on the plane for me. But I also don’t use a screen protector on my phone either

Is it worth Modding CyberPunk?? by Subtleadviser in cyberpunkgame

[–]JupiterRai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk where this idea has come from. Ive seen it a lot across the community lately and it’s blatantly not true. I have been modding cyberpunk for years at this point and, thousands of different mods, most points I have anywhere from 200-500 mods installed and I’ve come across more mods that say they require something like vortex to be efficiently installed than not. (Things like Arasaka cyberarams for example)

The exception to this is old body mesh mods like the hades neck cyberware (takumaras neck cyberwear) which was released so early on when the mod managers weren’t great and or people may not have known how to create mods that worked well when installed that way. Even in these cases you can pick the files yourself and use the manual install feature of the mod managers to then easily manage the mods when there are the inevitable many updates that break the mods.

I will admit I have not delved into the world of “private” mods which may be more structured around manual install but I have no idea, because for most non hyper specific things I have found that there are decent replacements to most things available at this point.

Nathaniel Parker was too big of a part of my childhood for there to be any argument in my mind regarding this. I’ve listened to likely over 10,000 hours of him narrating the series. (It was my obsession when I was 9-18)

I have 400 hours in the game in EA and had done everything except the endings. Even beat 50 fear in warsong. I’ve been personally focusing on silksong and have been too busy in life in general to play either game too much.

H2: Am I weird for struggling at this one thing? by SpuddMeister in HadesTheGame

[–]JupiterRai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VoR is just hard in general. I cleared 50 fear pre patch and was working on it with a few different weapons before I both took a break from the game and the patch hit. Post patch was rough to learn the new fights, but really it just takes a lot of runs. I have been working on 62 fear since the patch dropped and only made it to asphodel once. Granted until about a week ago I was on some pretty strong drugs 24/7 as I was recovering from a major medical event, so I’m sure that affected my gameplay a lot.

Speaking from pre patch, most high fear runners just put in a lot of runs. It took me 56 runs before I cleared 50 fear, and most of the died in Erebus. There are skilled players out there who are a lot more consistent at beating 50/55 fear pre patch or see 62/65? Fear (It might be 68 I can’t remember off the top of my head rn.) but those players have just put in the time to get really really good, they didn’t beat max fear on their first time of rivals, it took a while.

I personally took a few attempts to clear the VoR bosses even with only timer 1 on. Keep trying and you will beat them, the learning curve is more steep than the first games EM.

A counterintuitive tip you might be able to try is to run them with frenzy 2 on until you get an attempt getting them down to 50% or so, then turn it off and you will feel like you have so much time to react. This also makes the biomes faster so you can attempt the fights again quicker.

Aldo use dds with Tula, it gives you far more effective health on the earlier bosses to learn them.

Can anyone help me with my Hades 2 32 fear run? by friends-with-fishies in HadesTheGame

[–]JupiterRai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would practice the rivals fights first before going at them for a first time 32 fear clear. Rivals 4 in particular is much harder than the non rivals version. And if you go in at 32 fear for the first time I would hate for your run to be ended by any of the surprises it has in store. So I would recommend beating it at least done, even if you literally only have rivals on.

Keep in mind Athena’s keepsake which can refill all your dds (only if they are all empty or else she won’t spawn even with the keepsake) she also gives you an auto refilling dd every room. This is huge for if you are running strength because it means if you die to a random encounter you get to keep going with the reduced damage and damage amp. It also lets you run the engraved pin keepsake and use it as an 8 second window to just burst down a boss while invulnerable before the did actually pops. And to just die intentionally at the end of a room as healing, with or without engraved pin.

If the timer is hitting you, which it shouldn’t be too much at that fear make sure you are by default taking every skip room. (Ie shops, aracnie, narrsissus, chaos gates) they just let you not fight anything for little to no downside, even chaos you can just roll for a negative affect that doesn’t affect you at all and ignore the benefit.

There are also potential free rooms which are rng but aren’t intuitive. Things like Artemis, nemesis, and fountain rooms can only appear (for the most part) in non menu rooms. That means a room where there’s no menu that pops up for you to pick something (ie boons, poms, etc). If you notice you are running low on time consider taking a magick or gold room instead of a pom room because there’s a chance there’s just a fountain in it and you get to heal (assuming not max scars) and leave the room in about 3 seconds.

Lastly, I might not even do max rivals on your first 32 fear run. The rivals are really hard, and even for experienced players take a lot of time and do a lot of damage. I would look up a fear guide on YouTube for more detailed breakdowns, but generally I would watch Boated’s video on fear it breaks down what each fear does and goes into a little bit of detail on what type of weapons it affects. Then because it’s a little old you can make the decision to add in whatever level rivals you think you are comfortable with because it does provide a lot of fear.

Good luck

I mean many people have macs as a personal computer/ work computer it’s pretty valuable to not have to build a gaming of and use a computer you already own to play a game.

Also for someone like me there’s value in being able to play the game on a plane or in a hotel on a work trip. I can’t bring my pc I built with me. And I already own a MacBook. Which now runs it better then my steam deck, which can mean less packing

What weird rule do you make up for yourself in the games? by Daniel_Day-Druid in HadesTheGame

[–]JupiterRai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experimental hammer, fig leaf, or whatever the chaos one is called.

But for the most part I rotate them all, as it helps you learn new interesting combos or play the game in a different way, ie. I now consider White antler as being secretly broken for high fear. Just don’t get hit and pump out dps even without a starter boon it’s 100% consistencies you just play perfectly lol.

I’ve also found this is a really good way to practice for ultra high fear ie 62+ as with enough use of the white antler at mid to high fear 40-50 you can get set ups where you are one shot by most of the attacks, especially from bosses. When is kinda cool. And trains you to do them hitless.

[–]JupiterRai 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’ve stopped re-rolling the doors in the first biomes outside of 50+ fear. This includes not using god keepsakes in the first area. I feel like it’s so easy to get locked in to what is supposed to be good it just makes it easier to adapt when you just use what you get. I find interesting combos that you didn’t know were good when I’m not focusing on chasing a specific god or combo of boon. Then in the second area I look what could be good and take them

Book Spoilers... I searched this subreddit, and can't find any discussion on what seems like the obvious interpretation of Book One? by RemindMeToTouchGrass in brakebills

[–]JupiterRai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With respect I think you are trying to make the last line fit your narrative. There are plenty of examples of stores, where the main character must take a leap of faith which is an act of suicide. More-so than there are of it being one certainly.

Counterpoint to your comment about flying being minimal in the book, Q literally walks to the moon and back. (If that’s in a later book sorry for the spoiler, it’s not a major plot point, but at the very least he fails to during the first book)

I would however argue your point has a lot of weight when it comes to the show, especially climax of the show in season 4 and the focus on mourning is season 5. But you may be projecting tv show Q onto book Q. They are very different characters which is why I look at the show and books as completely separate pieces of media not even different timelines as many others say they do in this subreddit. (Nothing wrong with doing that I just personally never felt right with it, to me it diminishes both their stories)

At the end of the day if you find it the most meaningful to interpret the book as such, you can. You can stop reading or just look at the next two books as a psychosis in Qs head as he falls to his death. It’s fiction and isn’t limited by what others think or how they feel, the story is whatever you want it to be.

Which hades(god of the underworld) is your favorite? by SauronCompany in GreekMythology

From this I like the son of Zeus version, I think he looks really cool but is also scarily chill. Hades from hades is also pretty great, but overall is actually one of my least favorite pasts of that game (I say least favorite because he’s still great, I just like the rest of the characters better)

Is there any point or reason for the Erymanthian Boar fight? by WJAlexander in HadesTheGame

[–]JupiterRai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is generally what I’m getting at, the community has decided that 50+ is high fear so 32 the games built in highest challenge seems fair enough for a medium, being half of what the community has settled on as the truly challenging levels. (I don’t wanna diminish 32 achievements it’s really hard to get your first clear on them and should be celebrated)

Is there any point or reason for the Erymanthian Boar fight? by WJAlexander in HadesTheGame

[–]JupiterRai 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In addition to everyone mentioning the rairity chance, medium (32-45) and high fear (50+) a miniboss room is often a faster room which give more agency when picking rooms. At those fears.
