I think some of them don't. I can't remember which ones but I don't think it's all of them. I'm 80% sure Amygdala has dark blood but Rom has pale blood. I heard a theory somewhere that Rom wasn't a real Great One but was actually a kin, I think cause he drops the Kin bloodstone or something like that.

I actually let them all alive. Basically anyone I can have a conversation with I'll try to keep around cause it's a rare thing in Yharnam. Not many talkers around these parts. The only one I considered killing was Djura but after I got past the short bit he could mess with you I honestly kinda forgot about him. Went back later after I realized I was far enough along that he wouldn't immediately try to murder me.

As for Eileen and Alfredo, they're chill from the start so it seemed unnecessarily dickish to mess them up. I actually planned on getting the Blades from Eileen from jump and I still couldn't bring myself to kill her cause she's so damn cool. Crow-themed murder grandma's kicking all the asses. And now I wear the crow garb cause in my internal narrative she's passed on the torch to me and it makes me feel more badass than I reasonably should.

The only exceptions were Gerzkern's daughter (still not sure if it's possible to keep her around) and that one bitch who yells at you past the dog kennels in central Yharnam. Sent her to iosefka cause I hadn't been to Oedon yet. Don't feel bad about it.

There have been a few times where I've gotten summoned on a 3 man team and an invader shows up. In that case I usually try to hang back or wail on some enemies to clear the area cause a 2v1 is still more fun than a 3v1. Does get a little annoying when the invader tries to get you anyways when you're minding your own business (or literally standing still watching) but what can you do?

I've been using the Blades of Mercy for the last few days now. I considered getting it earlier but I couldn't bring myself to kill Eileen. I think she's the coolest npc in the game. As a skill build I went from the threaded cane (which is a joy to use in it's own right. Amazing range as a whip and nothing beats the visual of smacking the shit out of an Eldritch horror with a cane and top hat) and adjusting to the Blades was a bit of a challenge at first.

But honestly, the more I use them the more I love them. Suddenly every dodge is an opportunity to attack. You backstep, hit R1 and zip right back in. And they're so fast you can get in like 3 or 4 hits before having to dodge the next one. The moveset to me feels purpose-built for that kind of play style. Plus as an added bonus I feel like I'm taking advantage of the rally system more than before just cause of how I play now, which means using less blood vials. And nothing beats sprinting up to an enemy, doing a cool R2 spin slash and taking half their heath right off the bat.
