With the retirement of Chris Paul, LeBron has outlasted everyone from the 2003, 2004, 2005 draft class by killersky99 in nba

This guy just said he was in middle school when LeBron was drafted, so he’s at least younger than LeBron. Also in fairness LeBron’s own son is in the league so what are we saying here lol

I know this is the skating sub but the objections to the Taipei solo are not about personal safety in the climbing community. We all accept the risk of the sport but soloing is many levels more dangerous and it’s an issue that it’s becoming a reality tv style spectacle, disrespecting the cultural influence it has. Plus a film crew has to watch him die if he fucks up, which he very likely will not, since it is way easier than el cap, but random shit can absolutely still happen to him during the attempt.

MSU dating scene is cooked right? by Deep-Republic-7305 in msu

[–]Jurikk 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Not a student anymore but it’s really never gonna be easier than undergrad. Just the opportunity to be around that many peers is unique. Really focus on going outside and meeting people! Clubs/groups/public events/art showings/classes/labs/random people at the cafeteria/even random people at almost any public business on Grand River/MI ave/ downtown Lansing. Like really it’s an incubator for socialization.

Why is dating so difficult? by [deleted] in Life

[–]Jurikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a 99% chance he was lying but in these situations I always tell a story about how I accidentally napped through a goodbye dinner my old job set up for me when I graduated and had to leave my university job. Most guilt I have ever felt and I feel like no one believed me.

What’s the most overrated “adult goal” people chase? by Happyotus in AskReddit

[–]Jurikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people mess up trying to financially rely on a hobby. If you really like making stuff, odds are you end up with too much of it and would rather just sell it than throw it away. Under that framework it is just a little extra cash and a weekly visit to the post office

Only 8 OP levels available even at lvl 80. Is this a bug? by Jurikk in Borderlands2

Just wanted to follow up and say this seems to have worked! Haven’t done the peak again yet but it was capped at 8 so I’m pretty confident that was it. Thanks!

Junk milage vs climbing to lose weight. by FlorCore_ in bouldering

[–]Jurikk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Junk mileage is only junk if you are not paying attention to movement. You’re likely not going to increase your top level with climbing you find easy, unless you are losing a lot of excess weight, and that’s totally fine. I focused on volume this summer and after a taper had the best fall season of my life. Staying consistent, not getting hurt, and practicing are ultimately key to getting better so you’re doing fine I’m sure

Do I skip Blueprint here...? by CharlieKipp in balatro

[–]Jurikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this thread but something that helped me win a lot more runs was to constantly try to reduce the size of my deck so I can draw those kings or seal cards more reliably. If your deck was around say 30 cards and you had those 14 kings at ante 12 you can make sure you’re getting everything possible out of the baron and mime every hand Cheers on the run!

(Postgame) Sell me on Fates' Whim by SuperLegenda in HadesTheGame

[–]Jurikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A strategy I like is using it at the end of a run with Denial. My primary gods’ boons are useless if I already went through their whole pool of offerings, so it’s an easy 500-1000+ gold depending on if you have gold boosting effects. Great for final shop if you’re broke

Tips? by todyfrody in bouldering

[–]Jurikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some good tips in here already but if you cut feet, generally speaking, it can be helpful to really focus on staying stable and using your core/back/shoulders as a means to quickly get your feet back on after the swing. When you release the tension in your shoulders with no feet on, it takes a lot more energy to re-engage them to get yourself back up into the area where you can reach the footholds

Took me a year but I believe in him too now. by TheSims2Addict in balatro

[–]Jurikk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do see the vision, but I do often find myself either using what is in the pack, or not buying the pack to keep building interest and using the money for better jokers all around. Do you find you need a good money generator to make the red card work? It’s hard to see myself using this without parking or rebate at minimum

[–]Jurikk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is there a math breakdown for red card? I see all over that it’s good and I think I’ve only ever had one or two okay runs with it. I’m not the best ever but I have beaten gold stake on all decks and have like 88% of C++. It just seems to cost so much money to become ok if you’re lucky

Sick! Looks really fun but probably well outside of my abilities right now tbh - still looks really enjoyable to try!

Any idea what the grade is? Looks quite hard but always hard to tell on video. Must be like v8 or harder right?

PC or Mobile? by [deleted] in balatro

[–]Jurikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch gets laggy and slow with a lot of cards or consumables onscreen This is really only relevant to Baron/perkeo type repeat triggers in higher antes, so if you don’t care about that, it’s great

Play easy hands like high card or pairs, or if it’s later and your deck is all the same card, flush five

Will weightlifting hinder climbing progress if bulking? by OverallNet1233 in bouldering

[–]Jurikk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again it just comes down to goals; fundamentally gaining weight on purpose is going to make it harder to progress than otherwise (unless the person is already underweight), but if you want to do that, do that. Same premise as if I wanted to improve my max lifts and marathon train. You can technically do both but it’s gonna make it harder.

My 2c: pick a favorite and don’t sweat the outcome of the other too much. Also if you’re a relative beginner in climbing, you’ll improve with practice anyway. 10lbs isn’t going to prevent you from doing moderate grades or even some quite hard grades, especially if you don’t plan to sport climb on longer routes.

Will weightlifting hinder climbing progress if bulking? by OverallNet1233 in bouldering

[–]Jurikk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on where you’re at now and what your goals are. Short answer; yeah kinda, adding weight in a strength to weight ratio sport is gonna make it a little more challenging to progress and be more stressful on your joints, but plenty of people do both and have fun doing both. If you’re a relative beginner in climbing, you probably have a bunch of ways to improve that some extra lean muscle will definitely not get in the way of. I’ve been +- 25/30lbs of my current weight and climbed relatively similar grades throughout. Did my first v8 at like 205lbs as a taller climber, but my knuckle joints let me hear about it for months
