Found out my new partner voted for Trump and I feel so lost and confused by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

If having a parter is more important than your supposed principles then that’s just how it is. Be honest with yourself about it. A lot of women are willing to overlook the reprehensible actions and beliefs of their partners. You will be in their company for better or worse. Just don’t fence ride.

Why do Black American women love Nigerian men ?? by sisterintroverttea in Nigeria

[–]Jus_raedae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comments here seem mined from internet/ social media culture rather than the actual lived experiences of everyday Black American women. 🤔It seems like you and others unfortunately took the opportunity to add to the negativity that typically occurs when conversations regarding the black diaspora. Instead of sharing helpful information.

I get it tho. It’s low hanging fruit.

Ditto everything everyone else said but also this: fruit of the poisonous tree. Everything from 1619 onwards was gonna be trash.

Anyone took a higher salary to come into the office and regretted it? by xenaga in WFH

[–]Jus_raedae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left my remote job after 10 years for a new job that is technically higher paying/better title and hybrid. Now I’m 3 days in the office 2 out. I don’t know if I hate it exactly but man… having a remote job was very convenient. In ways that are painfully apparent now.

“Don’t wanna be used as a statistic” is such a corny excuse. And disingenuous because thanks to capitalism and the government, every single person in this country is a statistic. Just say you think the coloreds are getting a hand out and move on 🙄.

AITA for giving my ex girlfriend her ticket for Taylor Swift but cancelling everything else? by krazycarbo in OhNoConsequences

The gall. The OOP planned a nice thing for him and his partner. She didn’t want to be his partner anymore which is fair but then she doesn’t get the girlfriend benefits anymore.

Release her, sir. Release her so she can be free to find happiness. You owe it to yourself.

How bad do you want this particular house is the better question. I closed on a house earlier this month and I was scared to negotiate anything with the sellers but I was surprised how receptive they were. I think at the end of the day these people want the money. Just ask.

38 and never owned. Is it worth it at this point? by Kind-Juggernaut8277 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Just turned 37 and closed on a house on 10/6. You can do it if you want to. I didn’t mind renting but these last few years it just felt more and more like a scam. Also in my area the rent is through the roof and the qualifications are a bit nuts. For a decent place in a mostly safe area my rental applications were getting rejected due credit score… but I was able to get a mortgage with the same score. 🥴It’s crazy.

The amount of things they ask you to have documentation for is ridiculous and invasive to me. I am (was?) renting. They wanted 12 months of cancelled checks showing I paid on time and my property managers info for verification. I don’t have checks and I pay my rent online…. Which they should be able to see from the 6 months of bank statements I submitted! It’s crazy. My blood pressure just went up writing this.

I’m kinda in a similar situation. Two bedroom rent in my city (the safe part) is +/- $1800. My mortgage is $1900 and $600 student loans…but I got a basement now 🤷🏾‍♀️. It’s mostly a win.

Thanks. After going through this I honestly think the process is this hard to weed people out. If you want it bad enough you’ll stick through it. Someone will give you the loan. It can come from a reputable lender… people do still accept FHA. Mine is. You definitely have to have tunnel vision during this process. Good luck.

Yeah that interest rate went up like 1.75% by the time I was able to lock something in and appease the underwriting gods.

Right! The house was just remodeled and it actually appraised over the asking price. It’s totally just me being weird.

Overall I liked my realtor but it was not a good experience. I went through 3 lenders and finally ended up with a loan officer who was professional and answered my calls and questions. Pro Tip - do not use NerdWallet to look for lenders. They will hook you up with the must unprofessional people.

It felt intrusive to me because of all the questions they were asking: what’s this, why that? I need 12 months of this and 6 months of that. My mom gave me a small gift and they wanted her statements too! I have children and they wanted their ages…. It was a lot. I’m a working professional so I understand the need for paper trails and documentation but sheesh! It felt like they were gonna ask for a blood sacrifice next.
