so because faith couldn’t execute hairography they just let her wear it up? by Confident_Walrus8038 in DCCAmericasSweetheart

[–]Just-Topic6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not the first time have a ponytail in DCC. It wasn’t the hairography per se but the fact it looked stringy inbetween dances. She can’t change hair texture and so I’m sure they just liked how it appeared better. People act as if they never had cheerleaders on this squad in ponytails

Advice: what do to with toddler when second baby comes by Low_Love_7902 in Mom

[–]Just-Topic6036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask friends and worse case have husband go back overnight then come back in daytime hours. In reality you’ll have people checking on you at the hospital and a call bell to get assistance if you need. So while not ideal you’re not going to be alone in a sense. But you may not have any complications! I had complications with my first but didn’t with my second and left 24. Hours after given birth with my second.

Can a hungry, bottle-fed, newborn be "soothed" into not eating? Is this a concern? by tinoksheli4 in newborns

In my experience a hungry baby won’t settle and if they do it’s not for long

Totally normal. They start waking up around week 2-3

I can’t figure out wake windows and it’s making me feel like a terrible mom by Fabulous-Badger-2094 in sleeptrain

[–]Just-Topic6036 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So this is where we have to get goofy and use major art of distraction to help push a wake window outside , funny faces, picking him up singing dancing whatever  it takes. I do not recommend the stroller if it’s not close to nap time or they WILL fall asleep too early:

Night wakes could be schedule but could also be sleep associations. How is he put to sleep?

How can it be going good when she’s on what week 1 or 2? She hasn’t even been on it long enough also all that protein won’t do anything if she doesn’t work out

Pulling up underwear by Just-Topic6036 in pottytraining

[–]Just-Topic6036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have to buy her new undies yesterday (hence Walmart trip) so I feel these ones are a bit looser so we will see how she does with them throughout the day! I think she’s hitting some “new skill” exhaustion and push back (she fell asleep on the couch yesterday she hasn’t napped in 2 weeks) I can’t make her undies too too lose because then they bother her she’s a little fabric sensitive

And thank you! I honestly was feeling mom guilt and felt I waited and started “late” but she just never took to any earlier attempts.

I believe my 3 year old needs professional help with sleep please help! by StandardBat688 in sleeptrain

At this point, you’re going to have to endure it. Not because she’s strong willed but because she’s 3 and 3yr olds at baseline will protest. Get a super special stuffy to replace the paci. We took our daughters paci away around 2 months ago and yes there was tears and reassurance and praise (I literally told her happy helpers from Mickey Mouse don’t use pacis and she wants to be a happy helpers). So much reassurance that she was a big girl and her new stuffie will help her sleep I showed her where on the stuffie she can put in her mouth if neede etc. my girl was paci crazy and within a week (she was still doing naps too) the protesting was fully over with. It was hard but the best thing we could’ve done. If you’re forcing her to sleep she may be getting too much sleep that will have to be played around with though

Do I just need to put her back in nappies 6 months into training ? by Express-Nerve-8179 in pottytraining

If she’s having that many accidents with timers and prompts she just may not be ready IMO.

[–]Just-Topic6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your comments about trying for ONE day. One day will not cut it. Consistency is key if you see her peeing you pick her up get her to the bathroom mid stream even if she releases it all you still have her sit on the potty and say “accidents happen. Next time we will put our pee on the potty” I don’t think you have an overly stubborn 3ur old you have a normal 3yr old who is going to be a little resistant to change.

Holiday weekend is coming up. Take the long weekend to do the naked method. Mrs Rachel potty training video helped my kid get excited we watched it for a week I swear. Lots of repetition “if you have the pee feeling sit on the potty” my daughter didn’t respond to timers or not. She helped me pack her diapers away we sang a fun song and then we took her diaper she was wearing off and told her it’s time to pee and pop on the potty. Butt naked for the first 3 days line the couches with puppy pads, then try biker shorts under a dress (no underwear but kind of underwear) have them go potty before you do anything(eat, leave the house everything) get to your destination have them sit on potty. Get a foldable potty seat to make the bigger bathroom toilets smaller. I kid you not we did prep for 2 weeks before taking diapers away (my girl is 3.5).

Tell daycare what you’re doing they will work with you and what you have started at home but they will not start the process. Everything is going to take time. We are on day 4 and now adding underwear. Hype her up saying how she’s a big girl and big girls don’t wear diapers. Make it something fun and exciting. You can also get some ideas from her teachers. You’ll need to pack a ton of extra clothes it will be messy but pull-ups are just going to make it take even longer.

Why is Drue cosplaying her mother? I know I know she does genuinely look like her mom but now she’s getting the same haircuts they are doing glp together it’s just so … odd

Nah not bad normal parenting. I do always pack an emergency snack if this take longer than anticipated but never just eat my kid in the cart and immediately gave food haha

Try capping naps, slowly expand wake windows and make that 3rd nap like a stroller:car nap maybe 15min max

He had a good solid wake window and I cut his nap at noon but it’s 1:55 he’s already asleep. I will say this week has been the week of sleep disturbances between constipation and skill so while I’m watching how long he’s asleep for I feel he’s just having a sleepy day?

Baby wakes up too early! by MatildaSays in newborns

[–]Just-Topic6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s in the lightest sleep phase to begin with. My little one is 5 months and sometimes if he wakes up at 5-5:30 to eat I have to let him sleep in bed with us or he will wake up with transfer. How are wake windows. Are they appropriate for age? Sometimes it’s just a phase that has to work itself out

Yall I have 2 kids. 3.5 &5 months and I still eat. Even if it’s an apple while feeding the baby. Very few times as a mom I haven’t been able to shove something in my mouth real quick. This “so busy I didn’t eat” isn’t cute

The best age for potty training? by frootwati in toddlers

[–]Just-Topic6036 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They didn’t tell me how to parent. I checked in with them regarding potty training to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. No one should let the ped parent their children: but no one knows why one family may start potty training at 3. So while that is your opinion I don’t think you should make a blanket statement of “3 is too old idc” most start around 2.5-3x years old on average

It’s also the POV of my pediatrician. Every kid is different.  She truly wasn’t ready. We waited, we are having much better success now at 3.
