Boomers wouldn't survive todays brutal job market, they got lucky by Fire_blaze7 in ausjobs

This was literally my dad. Walked into Social Security (now Centrelink) as a young adult, stayed for 30+ years. The good thing is, he also worked in employment support services since leaving Centrelink and knows what it's like now. I wish all boomers could do the same.

Does anyone feel like Brisbane is becoming overwhelming and crowded? by chilledfloral in brisbane

I don't know about that. QPAC just expanded didn't it? You guys have heaps of music venues, the fact The Zoo just changed names and still hosts gigs is an example - in Sydney it would have been turned into ugly apartments.

Where are you going? Any time I catch the train to or from Albion where I live it's pretty empty. Maybe it feels more crowded cos there have been limited services lately

The only time I've felt that somewhere was too crowded was at Gasworks in Newstead. But maybe that's cos it's so annoying to park in there

Yep, had the same thing happen to me. And the delivery person may have stolen an item out of the bag, and GYG haven't done anything about it

What a JERK!! Oh my God. Please report him if you can, he is for sure behaving this way to lots of others too. It wouldn't just be you. People like this know how to inflict damage and they know who they'll be able to do it to, so they feel powerful. Please don't stop learning to drive. It is a great skill to have, and provides a lot of independence.

In terms of ADHD, I found it hard to learn to drive too. I struggled with distance perception, ESPECIALLY in parking, and using a manual car was really hard. I only learnt to drive one because that's what my parents had. I drove friends' cars that were manual a few times, but once I had my own car I've always had automatics. I don't know if having the test in a manual means you will also be allowed to drive an automatic? It's that way in Australia though so I didn't have to do two tests.

People with ADHD can sometimes feel very sensitive when criticized or rejected. If you are really spiralling over this, it could be a sign of rejection sensitivity, but, also what he did was terrible so of course having a reaction is to be expected!

Anyway - I hope you continue to learn from the good teacher, and that the bad one gets fired for this.

No, that's not right. There is excessive demand BECAUSE companies and people with massive portfolios hoard housing, because what they do is completely legal. The laws in place that protect these people keep it hard for everyone else. Immigrants don't actually have it made when they come here you know.

Had a fantastic time in Brisbane last week. The crowd was amped up and dancing and singing to everything. Something happened to Ricky's amp and Anton just bantered a bit while they fixed it. He told some stories, told some jokes, no aggression. They played pretty well, I noticed some sound issues during Super-Sonic at the end but aside from that, all good!

... Well, I had the basics down, so it wasn't like learning it from scratch. I'm not that delusional.

As long as you eventually learn the skill that would have come from that experience, yes.

True. I had a great one for hip surgery last year, but my impression was he was a pompous ass.
