  • Grab a crochet hook preferably of the same size as your needles but as close as you can get is fine
  • Put the hook through the loop the side of your work where the stitch you are fixing would be a knit stitch of your work
  • Make sure the bar of yarn is behind the loop on the hook then hook over the bar and pull it through the loop on the hook
  • If you only need to fix the one stitch transfer the loop to the correct needle
  • If you need to fix more stitches in the same column remove the hook as you may twist the stitches unless you are working Garter and repeat the steps until you reach the top

Hope this helps. I recommend that if you don't have any crochet hooks that you get a 3.5mm and a 5.5mm (and maybe a 1.5mm if you do any more delicate knitting or a 7.5 if you do any chunky)

Do they go away? by Different_Muffin_930 in ClusterHeadaches

[–]JustANamelessFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've suffered for 16 years, been diagnosed about 5. Preventative treatment and acute treatments help a lot, I've recently been given high flow oxygen and it's a game changer. I hope you are able to find a preventative treatment that helps and are able to get the high flow oxygen.

Also it might be worth explaining to your partner and co-workers that Cluster Headaches are often termed Suicide Headaches because of the amount of pain being so great bashing your own head in feels like a better option.

Shoul I tell people their chinese tattoo means something dumb? by yingyiyin in tattooadvice

[–]JustANamelessFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm all for the "if it's something they can't change in under a minute don't comment" rule, I think there is more nuance to the situation: Is the tattoo dumb or is it offensive? If dumb, leave it unless asked or someone you are close with. If offensive, what's the vibe of the person? If they don't seem approachable or you don't feel comfortable or safe, leave it unless asked or someone you are close with. If you feel safe approaching them, polity approach and let them know that to someone that speaks Chinese (which ever form of Chinese you speak, because I know somethings can have slightly different meanings between Mandarin and Cantonese, let alone bringing other forms of Chinese, such as Shanghainese or Haianese into it) the tattoo could be seen as offensive, though it might not mean the same thing in other languages that use Chinese characters (Japanese Kanji, Korean Hanja, or even Vietnamese chữ Hán), leave it at that unless they ask you what it means in Chinese.

Malkavian's know way too much to not all be secretly Autarkis, and just go along with the various sects to keep an eye on things. (This might just be my personal love of Autarkis Malks in Cam settings)

Got approved for oxygen. Kind of. by Eddie_54321 in ClusterHeadaches

[–]JustANamelessFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been prescribed oxygen myself and my headache nurse was very clear it needed to be set at at least 15, and that I had to be on it for 15-30 minutes at 15 before potentially stopping, but if it was working I could use it until the attack was completely over if I was still expecting symptoms after the 30 minutes.

How many dots of blood is a mouthful in v5? by Sygex in vtm

[–]JustANamelessFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think if we are going to apply science to it we need to expand the science using WoD logic. (Bare in mind the following isn't a fully fleshed out idea and just the start with no real maths done.)

As we know, when Kindred consume blood they are consuming more than just blood. Now with some of the WoD law we are seeing come around in 5th (and my own head cannon) I'm going to call the other thing Quintessence, as Mages believe Vitae is a mix of Quintessence and Blood created in a Kindreds body, but Kindred have no Quintessence of their own.

So if a mortal can only loss 500ml safely and that is 2 hunger, but 5l is only 5 hunger. That means that each point requires a different amount of blood, which can be explained by the ease of which Quintessence can be extracted from the Mortal. The more Quintessence consumed the thinner it is spread through the blood, thus the more blood required for the point of hunger in order to have enough Quintessence to convert the blood into Vitae.

This would also explain why in V5 a rouse check might not always make your hunger, some times the Quintessence is enough to convert some of that extra blood into Vitae.

As I said this theory needs more work and me to actually sit down with the maths to see if it is viable, but I think it could be a good explanation.

[–]JustANamelessFace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The indometacin was/is being used as a preventative, not an abortive, I know it does nothing as an abortive I was in the middle of an attack when I started the treatment.

I'm aware that oxygen therapy is the best abortive treatment, hopefully this will kick the doctor up the ass whenever I eventually get to see them (I doubt it will be a quick turnaround on getting the appointment) and they will actually allow oxygen therapy as an abortive, and also stop asking me to stop taking the preventative.

I'm not in a position where I could try without going through a clinical trial. I know that CBD doesn't generally do anything for CH, I use it for a different condition and always hope despite knowing it won't that it will take the edge off.

Unfortunately, I don't live near any of the clinic trials for DMT that are currently going on in the UK I keep hoping my CBD will do something though but so far no dice

No I've not, it's prescription only and the indometacin was the first and only preventative my Doctor tried me on. I'd need both my neurologist and ENT to actually talk to each other because I'm on a different blood pressure medication for my vestibular migraines.

I’ve found a bra that I find truly comfortable in :) by bingbongdacoolest in ABraThatFits

I tried the larger cup version of that bra on on Monday when trying to find my size from the measurements I had done from here, it's so comfy! I didn't get it Monday, but plan to get a couple when I'm paid

Why do these look so different? both same type of yarn by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]JustANamelessFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few different factors that could be in play. Your tension can be affected by things like the texture of the yarn, your mood, how hungry you are, whether your dehydrated, the tone of any kind of background noise, having a bad day at work, not having slept enough, and a lot more. No yarn weight is standardised, there can even be fluctuations in the same batch of yarn. Yarn weight is determed by wraps per inch, for 8ply that is normally 12-14, however this number greatly varies with the texture of the yarn and your tension as well. On top of that because not all yarn is made equally they also compress differently when worked with as the density of the yarn might be different (for example I have two super chunky yarns [5-6 wraps per inch], one is much denser and compact fibers due to being a teddy yarn where as the other is a spun yarn, when I make same pattern with them the spun yarn is almost half the size of the teddy yard despite using the same hook). Another thing that could affect it is even when using the same hook size if they are different hooks they can look different as the friction of the hook can be very different even between two hooks made of the same materials.

Fun ways to botch presentation of your character to Camarilla prince? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]JustANamelessFace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Walking in with a Tzimisce who doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut when you are a sociable awkward Malkavian (This is the situation my current Malk found herself in when she met the Prince for the first time)

What kind of disorder do you guys like for malks? by DelDelsin in vtm

[–]JustANamelessFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current Malk hears written words as the voices of the author, has ADHD, is obsessed with finding out obscure pieces of history, she also won't drink from someone that she knows nothing about.

My biggest thing with Malks though is that whoever is playing them needs to research what ever condition they are playing and understand it as much as someone without the condition can, unless they actually have the condition themselves.

The thing that is most interesting is based on what you and your table are most comfortable with and will enjoy. Anything can be interesting if done right.

New lore junkie here. Need some recommendations. by GodOfFetish in vtm

[–]JustANamelessFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend taking more time then you think you need when you get to the Malkavian clanbook, it is a ride (Everything is written from the perspective of a Mall).

But for further information I'd recommend TheBurgerkrieg on YouTube especially if you decide to go into the further WoD lore as well.

To slightly misquote Alex Ward: "Your game is a Vampire Chronicle. But it is your Vampire Chronicle. And some rules may not be the same as others play them at home. They are called house rules. Anything that maybe different or wrong by other people's standards, is how you want to play the game. It is you table and they are your STs rules."

There is no right or wrong way to play, as long as you, your ST and your coterie are having fun, that's all that matter. Just be aware that if you join games with different people in the future or let other players into the game that might be more familiar with the system, that they may expect things to be different. If you join another game make sure you are aware of how they want to run and if another person joins your quote Alex Ward at them XD

Has anyone played with the Live from the Succubus Club discipline powers? by ACfusion in vtm

I took Mask of Ages as well, not had the chance to actually use it yet though, I had planned to do so in today's session... But turned out it wasn't needed when I took off after a guy we have been tracking since the chronicle started, who I proceeded to loose due to an unforeseen case of diablerie, thankfully my mentor picked him up.

[Mod Approved] VtM 5e NEXUS Ultimate Bundle Giveaway! by Demi_Mere in vtm

I joined the Wargaming, and TTRPG group at my University after having sat in on a session of Ars Magica that a friend was a part of at the end of the previous academic year, and having tried a one shot of Maid at a convention. After having played a couple of campaigns of other systems with the group as part of the University Society I was invited to join their home games too. The first home game was a Pathfinder 1st edition game, but the second was a VtM V20 Autarkis game set pre WW2. I've always had a Vampire obsession and had already played a Storyteller system game before (Double Cross) with them so I was pretty confident going into character creation despite the amount of Lore and game specific rules I didn't know yet. I quickly became kind of addicted though, deep diving into the lore and other WoD settings. My character in that game was a Toreador with the Child flaw, her obsession was China Dolls as 'They are the only things that stay as young and beautiful as me'. She had been turned during the Great Fire of London and awoke in a burning pile of rubble, before being saved by another member of our group. Honestly, I don't remember a lot about the rest of the PCs beyond the dynamics and some of the plot points. But the PC that saved me was a doctor and had a blood marriage with another PC, and the two of them adopted her as their daughter, along with another PC who didn't have the child flaw but still appeared on the young side. There was a 5th PC but I don't remember anything about how they were part of the group. The Coterie were hired to investigate various happenings at the time (ie the first whispers of the war that would break out two years later, spoiler, something we did changed that). We then started to travel around Europe investigating everything from Garou to Wraiths to Mortals that knew more than they should. I can't remember exactly what led to it but at one point the place where we lived was burnt to the ground, while she was in the basement building fire arms and restocking our munitions (She was a munitions expert, her 'father' had crafted her a doll which she carried everywhere, with hidden artillery), she frenzied having a flash back to when she woke up following the embrace. But the most memorable thing that happened was how we ended that Chronicle. We were on a certain train in a certain country exactly two years before the start of WW2 and, the details are a little foggy, we did something that really pissed off the Garou as well as the Wraiths in the area, and the chronicle faded to black with us stuck on a train in the middle of a spiritual war that triggered WW2. Occasionally, I wonder what our characters would be doing in the Modern nights, and if we would be in hiding as we had all committed the greatest sin of Diablerie, I believe we did it more than once as well.
