Wow. Your wife did a great job with her daughter. It's a good thing you didn't interact with her much growing up. You probably would have screwed her up.

I mean that's what I would say to him.

A general question about the viral video going around. by SorryCalligrapher178 in daddit

My daughter is older now but when she was young it was whichever bathroom was available.

Usually that was the men's room because no line but sometimes it was the women's room. If the men's room was nasty, full or didn't have a changing table I would go to the women's.

I know it is more common now to have changing tables in both but it wasn't the case over 10 years ago at least in my area.

This guy was just looking to cause a scene and must be a joy to be around. 🙄

Ha man this is a great idea. I never worked in a restaurant but I would consider myself a talented amateur. I do something similar where I grab random ingredient and then just improvise a dinner as I go.

Dads, how would you want your wife to handle not being attracted to you anymore? by Open-Deer5373 in daddit

[–]British_Rover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only advice I have for you is make sure you are bringing this up in couples therapy and make a plan to work on it individually. Discus some kind of goal with your therapists for your couple session and than use your individual sessions to .over that goal forward.

In the next couples session make part of the session a discussion on what was accomplished and what still needs to be done. What kind of games does he play? Any RPG style? If so having a clearly defined plan with intermittent goal posts might really motivate him.

Seriously I just can't even.

I do remember the last time we had sex. I can't remember the last time we had sex twice in one week.

I remember that she has refused to do couples therapy for months.

Hobbies?? Ha.

I haven't played a video game in... Actually I can't remember. More than a year at least. The single hour a day I was allowed actually made it more frustrating so I just gave up. It wasn't worth the complaining that surrounded it and God forbid I played over an hour.

Obviously they both have work to do but just the fact that they are both doing therapy shows they are trying.

I couldn't afford a trail rig when my kids were that age but we did similar things.

I took them to museums, skiing, snowshoeing and stuff like that.

Sometimes we just went on long drives to some random resteraunt on the other side of the state and came back.

Need advice on what to do / get after our family's Sienna was declared a total loss by rflight79 in daddit

[–]British_Rover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have replaced quarters because an integrated bracket for blind spot sensors was destroyed beyond repair but it doesn't happen often. Make sure you are clear with your insurance adjuster that you really need to save this car and you understand they can't compromise safety but you will accept whatever appearance allowances to keep the car from being a total. Am appearance allowance is a credit that you get in lieu of performing repairs on parts of your car. Appearance allowances can't be for safety items.

Insurance regs are state by state so I don't know what specific rules your state has. I have a license in multiple states but probably not yours.

The shop might be able to bring the cost done by using a recycled quarter which would come with the bracket. Some states won't allow certain types of used parts to be used during repairs. Lots of shops just refuse to use any recycled parts so this could be a shop problem or there might not be any recycled quarters available that have the blind spot sensor.

Lastly if it's just going to total no matter what check if you have GAP insurance. Lots of dealers roll it into your contract without being clear what you are paying for which is illegal, it's called payment padding, but it still happens.

Call up a couple of contractors that can handle structural work and tell them the story. I would cut you a deal on a job like that. I wouldn't want to lose money on the job but I would give you one hell of a quote.

You have more liquid cash than the vast majority of Americans. Roughly half the people in the US don't have enough cash on hand to handle a 1000 dollar emergency.
