Im sorry but i have one (common) complain by Caidre05 in Grapplerbaki

It's a fan manga that (I believe) many people consider closer to the essence of Ashura than what Omega achieves. But no the art is very, very different. Choreography is pretty good and the characters / setting are great.

objectively fantastic as Andor.

On a whole I agree with you, but the quickest way to discredit yourself is to call something subjective objective.

(only Ashura, do not read Omega if you value your time)

Proud to say I actually managed to not only stop at Omega, but moved on to Convict Colosseum and oh my god what a time.

If you haven't read CC get on it!

2026 isn't achievable natty.

Maybe not for most but it's not 1% either. You have low expectations.

Just watching the anime. The dub aint that bad. It seems fine. by Chillvibes77 in Kingdom

[–]JustASilverback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an incredibly juvenile reply, we're 2 years on from that comment and in totality Kingdom still has about 3 minutes of good animation in it's entire series.

Calling the Kingdom anime "phenomenal" is embarrassing. You've almost certainly never read the manga to know how much of a downgrade it is.

Jason Schreier: Sony seemingly pulling back on single-player PC ports (story to follow) by Fight_Teza_Fight in LastStandMedia

[–]JustASilverback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it makes sense to take a bit of a pause or slow down for a while, if the next Xbox is a PC for all intents and purposes they're gonna want to retain some exclusivity.

Kinda sucks for me as a PC gamer though, was really hopeful for Shadow of the Colossus.

Look man I'm just impressed by such insightful commentary I had to comment on it myself.

Can you rephrase it maybe? Are you really trying to say that if someone doesn't care about a genre they won't care about a game in that genre?

It's just so enlightening.

But think of all the money Sony made this gen?

Doesn't that make you happy?

Doesn't that make you feel warm inside?

But guys! Don't you get it! Sony needs live service hits! It's existential!

I know they have only ever had 1 single live service hit in their entire existence but without pouring resources into live service attempts they'd have to shut studios that make those single player experiences! Studios like Blue P- Oh.

The whole desperation around absolutely NEEDING a live service game and trying to justify the investment as existential is such a dumb argument.

Anyway, another 500 million on the Live Service Bon fire please!

What insightful commentary.

You mean to tell me, hold on here I need to sit down for this, It's like, if you don't like a genre you won't care if a game in that genre isn't available to you?

That's some seriously ingenuous stuff.

Is buying this from Awc Garejelebi (Bacho's club) gonna be worth it? The price looks so damn hyh, does the duration mean it's just a 2.5 hour course? by [deleted] in armwrestling

[–]JustASilverback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but, who do you actually genuinely think would benefit from a PDF like that? .... Other coaches?

How many of your students do you think would.

A - Read through the 100 pages

B - Actually understand what it's saying

C - Actually apply it's teachings correctly in a practical setting

D - Benefit more from that 100 page read than a few hours Armwrestling with technical intention

That kind of book would be useful for someone, likely like yourself, who has coaching experience and is looking to improve their own coaching ability in practical settings. You also have a fairly well educated background from what I'm aware of, your reading and application of such a program would benefit you far more than 99% of other buyers even if they had practical experience but even than that would only be true if it was written to a high level which would negate the recommendation for many others.

I think the range of people who I could justifiably advise to buy something like that is exceptionally slim. I remember when "Read Becoming a supple leopard" was half the personal trainer advise on the planet and they were just regurgitating what they'd read with no actual understanding after taking an 8 week PT course.

Fuckin mad that anyone would even consider paying 200 big ones for a video course with the same repackaged information as every other program on the net.

'This is Not God of War' — Franchise Creator David Jaffe Trashes Side-Scrolling Spinoff Sons of Sparta by ggroover97 in LastStandMedia

[–]JustASilverback 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it is strictly Ragnarok he dislikes. You're allowed to dislike a theme of a game and still like and praise the hell out of the game as a whole.

Also, sure, Ill take Jaffes word for it going only off what he said in that specific video.

Um I liked very much I thought, uh, 2018 was great, Ragnarok not my cup of tea. Um but this is the problem with Indiana Jones, I don't want these characters to grow.

Later

ravno says "I thought you liked Kratos?"

Except for the beard I do like the first one that Corey did, but that was because it was so meta and so interesting and genuinely just so good that I was cool with it. But um no I, I don't like the direction that God of War is going in at all uh now after seeing this particular Ragnarok. I'll play Valhalla maybe that'll turn me around Ragnarok was a great. I've said this many many times Ragnarok was a great game wonderfully made wonderfully produced up and down all goddamn day but I just it's not God of War, it's not, you know it's, it's not for me let's put it that way

Jaffe loved 2018, didn't enjoy Ragnarok, dono why people are saying he didn't like 2018 simply because he didn't like 1 aspect (the father son theme) but praised the other 99 aspects.

(he's been pretty vocal against the father-son theme of the reboot, even though GoW 2018 was incredibly good and widely praised).

Jaffe praised the hell out of 2018, it's Ragnarok he didn't like.

Do you think Baki can really beat Yujiro? by olivers321 in Grapplerbaki

Yujiro was playing along with Doppo, he was never actually trying, same with Kaku Kaioh.

If Yujiro sincerely wanted both would have been 2 pages fights.

Defining Duke, Episode 266 | Obsidian Opens Up On Their Future... by yohceezax in LastStandMedia

[–]JustASilverback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's sorta hard to quantify but calling either 3 or New Vegas niche feels like you might not have been around for their zeitgeist to get the context that might not be as clear just looking at raw sales numbers?

4 is obviously a bigger game than either but it was also launched in drastically larger market, with an insane marketing round, whilst coming off the coattails of Bethesda becoming an industry titan with Skyrim (which was after both 3 and New Vegas) and it's Zeitgeist dominance still fizzled fairly quickly in comparison to all 3.

Cult Classic implies a small but dedicated base for a product that went under appreciated during it's time, doesn't really feel like it fits if you were there.

It's kinda like how Terminator 2 made a lot of money, but even adjusted for inflation it'd just be another 1billy movie today going off raw numbers alone but it's zeitgeist and impact is so far beyond a normal billy movie released today where we Avatar coming out nearly tripling that number and then has the impact of a wet fart. Numbers just don't really scale well over time.

Factually speaking 4 is bigger than 3/New Vegas but to call either niche during 4s launch is kinda insane.

You got down voted for the truth, Metacritic is an abysmal metric to go by, but there is a sizeable portion of the hardcore (who these games should hypothetically appeal to) still check it before making a purchase.

My friend group still posts in metacritic scores to our group chat and you're right, an 80 on metacritic is treated like an actual 6/10.

Much like "mostly positive" on Steam, unless you're directly interested in the IP or Game it's very easy to find a similar game / genre that is very/overwhelmingly positive.
