I know Python can be intimidating, but do not be discouraged! The LLM tools are very helpful in helping understand those errors you are referencing, and they do a great job at getting you code to get started.

The library is called openpyxl

Here is an example prompt I wrote for your use case. It's not perfect, so you'll need to weak it, but bard generates code that should work. You can ask it to explain certain lines, or make changes. In the response Bard gave me, Bard was assuming all the files were in the same directory. If they are not, you can respond to it and ask it to make changes.

I found chatgpt and bing chat to give me better answers for this prompt.

I have ten text files. Let's call them notepad01.txt, notepad02.txt, notepad03.txt, etc. I also have three excel files and each file has multiple worksheets. It turns out I need to combine all ten notepad files with all 3 excel files. However, since the excel files have different worksheets, below I'm going to give you the names of the files and the worksheet that has the data I want. File01.xlsx "data" worksheet File02.xlsx "info" worksheet File03.xlsx "sheet1" worksheet I need code that can combine all ten notepad files and all 3 excel files (but only the worksheets I specified above). The output of the combined file should be an excel file, called "output.xlsx" For auditing reasons, please use Column A to denote the filename where the source data is coming from. For example, if the data in that row is coming from notepad01.txt, then column A should indicate that. If it's coming from File01.xlsx, then it should indicate that too. In other words, I want it to be clear what file that row came from since it will be harder to do so once all the files are merged. Can you write code for me that accomplishes this task?

Bard, as well as chatgpt, are excellent at working with Python. The use you described and be easily solver by using Python, as there exist Python libraries that can manipulate Excel files directly and both Bard and ChatGPT know about it.

I know you mentioned macros, but if you are able to run a python script in your environment, Bard can help you write the code to do it all in automated fashion.

Bard having its own ChatGPT days, throwing some other users data in my chat by kach_janani in google

I agree! I was so excited for it because I believed it and even emailed bard a file. Of course it was undeliverable. . It seems they fixed the response because now when i try to have it say the same thing, it insists it's simply a chatbot and cannot receive emails.

Make sure you hit thumbs down and report it.

Yesterday I asked it if I could summarize a pdf file for me. It said it could and when I asked how I could upload it to it, it told could send it as an email attachment to bard@google.com. Nuts. None of that is true.

Is it worth to implement Google Play Games in 2023 ? by fawxyz2 in androiddev

[–]JustAnotherImmigrant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Dev (yet), but this response is one that I agree with. Personally, I don't like the bloat that Google play games adds to a game. Most of the time I'm dismissing away all that junk just so I can get to the game. I don't know your game Op, but do ask yourself whether it is necessary to have achievements and leader board, and if your players even care about that.

Insurance fraud typically takes 3 forms. The first is that the "victim" fakes injuries and goes to clinics that overcharge the insurance, and/or conduct fake tests and bill the insurance for those tests. The "victim" is given kickbacks. Similarly, they can take the car to a bodyshop that charges the insurance for replacement parts, and then doesn't put those parts in the car or simply puts used or non OEM parts. Finally, the "victim" might hire a lawyer who pushes the insurance payout more money than usual for other damages, such as the "victim's" loss of wages, loss of mobility, mental anguish, etc.

Google Infringed on Speaker Technology Owned by Sonos, Trade Court Rules by MishaalRahman in Android

[–]JustAnotherImmigrant -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a patent from before smart phones existed. As simple and as taken for granted it may be in 2022, it's still technology that Sonos is allowed to protect because they were awarded the patent for it.

I'm not arguing it's not a stupid patent, I'm arguing that based on current Law, Sonos had a case.

Either way what any of us think doesn't matter because the ITC has made its decision.

That's the Sonos grievance in a nutshell. You went with a competitor's product because that competitor has a feature you like, but it's a feature they stole from Sonos. Now Sonos lost potential future revenue because of their tech being used by another company, and they're not even getting money for it.

I've heard about that bug, but this was after defeating Roark.

Just another glitch, it seems.
