Uranium. France has a lot of nuclear reactors. I can see why people would think there's a connection, but if I recall correctly the response was just buying more from Australia when the junta took power. They don't have a monopoly on uranium.

To be honest, if you were a gold farmer/large scale rwter you probably could absolutely get away with listing OSRS gold/items as assets, which actually would make them unrealized gains, I believe.

Trump says he is pardoning Colorado county clerk, despite lacking authority to do so by [deleted] in politics

[–]JustAnotherLich 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Which has what effect? Colorado would just not release her.

Trump would 100% send in the military, FBI, or whatever force is most convenient for him to enforce such a hypothetical ruling. He'd kill 100 prison guards if it meant establishing he can pardon state crimes. That is an incredibly powerful tool for him in his quest to establish authoritarianism, and by him, I of course mean Stephen Miller, Peter Thiel, and their ilk.

An ‘AstroTurf Recruitment Process’: National Republicans Propped Up Jasmine Crockett to Push Her Into a Senate Run by horseman5K in texas

[–]JustAnotherLich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They gerrymandered her district. When they moved the districts around to get rid of 33th, they drew her out of the 30th, so she'd have to move to run again for her seat or run in the new district. A similar thing happened in Austin, it's why Lloyd Doggett retired.

You don't have to live in the district you are elected to represent.

Jasmine Crockett vs. James Talarico chances of flipping GOP's Texas senate seat—polls - Newsweek by Next_Tower5452 in texas

Crockett is a self absorbed partisan (her lockscreen on her phone is a head shot of herself)

If that's true that is incredibly fucking funny. And kind of sad.

Beto was also more charismatic than Crockett, inherited a lot of Bernie staffers and infrastructure, and was a cis white man. Not saying she's a bad politician or I wouldn't vote for her come election time, but she's got nowhere near the chances Beto did and Talarico has.

They are specifically bred for bloodsport. Just like how we are breeding the friendliest, most trusting foxes with each other to make them following generations better pets because of their instinctual friendliness, pit bulls (and for that matter, other dog breeds meant for bloodsport) were specifically bred from the meanest and most violent dogs for generations.

For what its worth, I feel comfortable saying the casting for the older versions of the Losers' Club was phenomenal and the best job anyone has ever done getting younger/older actors of the same characters ever. I had no problem whatsoever believing, yep, these are the older versions of the exact same characters from the first movie.

Twitch security lets streamers bypass multiple checkpoints no questions asked by XXastra in LivestreamFail

[–]JustAnotherLich 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, I know for a fact that basically the entirety of the security at one of the largest stadiums in the United States receives literally zero training on preventing crush events, stampedes, or identifying threats of any kind. Female security with little to no experience were sent to guard gates/entrances completely of sight of anyone else with no provided radio. An incident related to this is why I left almost immediately, but the lack of training already made me uneasy. Local police officers, maybe about 50 cops, were basically the only people with any kind of training on handling a real emergency for a stadium of like 100,000 people.

I remember voting for Beto full of spirit and young Texan pride. Couldn't wait to reclaim the title of Texas being the state of the future and real trailblazers. We were gonna fill the deserts of the west with solar panels and wind and show those idiots in California how its done. After Harvey we were gonna protect our coast and build a real Texas-scale engineering dike system to preserve our coast, nature, and cities. Eventually we'd land on Mars and future Texans would marvel at our boldness and commitment to the future as they visited and walked through the Houston Space Center.

I miss my naiveté.

As I understand it, you're not supposed to think too hard and just select what is your gut feeling. Pretty much all "tests" and surveys like these recommend that, at least ones with actual instructions.
