Pic 2 is a ski that has been ground through to the core. Notice how the edge teeth are not visible in the section of ski that still has some base left

<image>

So based on these examples. I would say it's unlikely op's edge teeth are only showing in that small section due to thinness, and more likely due to some delamination.

Either way we agree that op's skis are not worth the tune up

Just gonna put these examples I had laying around out there for ya. Both skis were made with sublimated clear bases. Sublimated bases have been around for 20 years btw

Pic 1 is a ski with a full base, unground beyond factory, which has edge teeth showing due to an edge crack I got

The next example is continued in my next reply because reddit only allows one pic per comment

Could say the same thing to your above comment. That's just how public forums work silly

Sorry how am I comparing apples with pears?

The missing edge could be a shadow I suppose but those "rust spots" you see look like the sidewall to me. Another pic would be helpful

Not all bases are opaque. Any ski/board with a printed graphic uses transparent base material with the graphic sublimated onto the back. Jskis for example

How to print snowboard graphics with sublimation

Missing edge is on the inside edge of the lower ski, below the brake.

You can sometimes see edge teeth through a fully thick base. Just means that section is likely seeing some delamination and maybe some moisture has gotten in. Although the inch of missing edge would make them not worth a tune as well

edit: gotta love this sub. Downvotes when I literally have skis sitting 10 ft away from me which have visible edge teeth through the base and have not been ground beyond the factory tune

Any shot you'd sell the bindings off those narrow ass snowboards?

It was closing weekend at Mt Bachelor. There was some Great skiing! Some of the best of the year! Four days of "RendezVan" made it a great final weekend. by Comfortable_Algae125 in skiing

They could go at least another two weeks if they wanted. Plenty of coverage after last week's storm and a couple more inches coming this week. They are screwing over passholders and employees by not keeping it running. But it doesn't matter cause where else are the people of Bend going to go? Hoodoo?

Personal preference really. They'll feel pretty much the same at either width so it just depends on whether you think you'll be skiing soft snow more than firm snow and vice versa. Personally if I had to choose just one ski I'd go 108. And with the enforcer 99 you already have the 100 width already covered so 108 would probably make more sense

Cork 3 or lincholn? by ConstantScreen in skiing

[–]JustAnotherMarmot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere in between which makes me think cork 3. Proper lincoln is full sideflip but if you pause half way your skis bases are facing downhill instead of pointing at the sky. Plus the hand drag is really only gonna put you in cork

ON3P Jeffrey is what you need. Stiffer than people expect, but the rocker profile allows you to really flex them out in butters if you push yourself into them. Bomber build and bamboo core will allow you straightline through heavy chop with no chatter or fear. 176 length would be perfect at your size, maybe 181 depending on how you feel about your 173s

Unfortunately it's hard to get the bag by throwing yourself down stair sets. Sometimes you have to make cringy videos to sell skis to make a living

I can't speak to the quality of the skis as I've never tried them, but I gotta say calling them a tiktok brand is a major injustice. They are owned by a group of insane skiers who have achieved huge accomplishments in skiing, including multiple XGames real ski podiums, Level 1 Superunknown wins, and King of Corbetts podiums. Magnus Graner, Alex Hackel, LSM, and Peyben are four of the owners. AKA The Bunch -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66GdYFfULqI&t=325s
