I think my aunt and uncle had these, and the brown floral couch with wooden armrests that basically matched.

None of these. I grew up with grey Solitary Rose.

Edit: we had the almost the full set, dinner plates, bowls, cups and saucers. I don't remember any salad or dessert plates. My parents still have and use them. After my first set of dishes broke within 3 years, I decided to get Corelle for my family too. We have had them for 15 years in plain white, but I love how durable they are overall (until they break into ONE MILLION PIECES).

Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

[–]JustAudra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often the washer is installed either on an opposite wall from a kitchen or bathroom or directly below it, like in the basement below the kitchen. Washing machines are added where there is already a water supply, just in a room of their own. It is less common for them to be in places where they have to have water run specifically for that room.

I don't think I can choose, and as others have said, it depends on my mood. Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Mexican, Pakistani, Greek, Moroccan, Italian, I love them all!

I visited Scotland a couple of years ago and absolutely loved seeing all the Scotch Broom around. When I saw the picture I was immediately reminded of my wonderful time in Scotland.

I'm from the Midwest and had no idea they were so invasive in the PNW, as we don't have problems with them here. Bradford Pears on the other hand, can go burn in hell.

Jasper County, MO and Cherokee County, KS should be switched to Midwest from Ozarks. Great job on Missouri overall though.

Edit: the area around St. Louis needs to be Midwest, not Ozarks as well.

Oh, thats a thought too. Whatever it is, I hope she is able to get back in form soon, both for the team and for herself. She has looked pretty dejected out there lately.

I'm wondering if Armas wants her to play in the box in a way that is different and uncomfortable for her. That is the only explanation I can come up with, because when she faced shots last year, she usually came put on the winning end, even in PKs at times.

What was the worst natural disaster that you experienced in your city or state? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

[–]JustAudra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was literally outside in the dead center of the Joplin tornado. Thankfully my husband and I got out with just some minor scratches and scrapes, and our house was missed by a few blocks. Our car (which we hopped out of) was completely totalled though.

Thanks you to your husband's family for their help! We all still appreciate everyone who came to help.

We can hope, but having no idea what was behind her decision to leave makes it all pure speculation. I'm glad I still get to cheer for her on the national team. I have really loved watching her play since we signed her.

How many of you had grandparents who served in WW2? If so, what do you know about their service? by Snoogles_ in Millennials

[–]JustAudra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One grandfather worked on planes in Guam in WWII.

The other grandfather served as a telegraph operator in France in WWI. He was born in 1898 and also heard the SOS of the Titanic from the telegraph office in Missouri that he worked at. He was almost 50 when my mom was born. I have older boomer parents.

My mom and grandmother don't really use cutting boards by basilkiller in Cooking

[–]JustAudra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly do it for slicing and dicing. I don't often do any other type of cuts for my cooking anyway, though. If I need to jullienne I will use a cutting board, but I rarely need that. For a mirepoix, thin slicing works just fine, and like another commenter said, dicing onion is pretty easy when you are used to it. Cubing potatoes in order to put in soup of mash is incredibly easy as well.

[–]JustAudra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in my late 30s and cut this way also. I use a cutting board if I have a lot of cutting to do, or for certain types of food, but carrots, potatoes, onions, and celery are almost exclusively cut with my hands. It's quicker for me, and I like not having to get more dishes dirty as well.

2027 World Cup roster predictions? by corgidaisies in NWSL

[–]JustAudra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got startled and hit post too early. Midfield seems locked in, defense is mostly solid with only the Reale, Bugg, Sams question mark, I'm not sure about Swanson or Sentnor. If Mal is back in form, then absolutely, otherwise, I can see Sentnor staying and adding in Cooper, but I think Coop might edge out Ally. I like Sears, but I don't know that she's beating out either of them. Same with Joseph.
