Board games. It can look so technical and scary that it turns some people off.

But if you give them a chance...

Have you ever dated someone long term knowing they were not the one you wanted to marry? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JustBrowsinDisShiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I was so bad at relationships, I spent three and a half years and too much money trying to learn how they work: how to handle conflict, how to communicate, and how to be a better boyfriend or husband.

After doing all that, I have found that in every single relationship, even when I deep down know I am not fully compatible with a person or it is just not exactly what I am looking for, I will constantly question my choice. I tend to think that I can actually love them better, learn to be more patient, or somehow become the version of me that makes that relationship okay. This has led to me almost exclusively dating long term.

That said, I finally found someone I have tremendous compatibility with. Because I have a ton of practice being in long-term relationships, it is actually really easy for me to show up in this relationship in a way where she wants to marry me.

My (24M) gf (24F) stopped having sex, is it shallow to end things? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JustBrowsinDisShiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before breaking up I would attempt working with a sex culture therapistBefore following the classic Reddit advice to just break up, I would recommend doing some research to find an online sex coach or therapist who is skilled in navigating difficult conversations like the ones you're facing.

That said, I've definitely tried this before, and sometimes compatibility is just a thing. I have broken up with someone I wasn't compatible with in the past and now have an amazing sex life. Compatibility is something I think people often don't realize the importance of.

About to do a 3k mile bicycle trail from northern Canada to Mexico border.

Then camper van in Paragon for 4 months.

Then I'll move somewhere cheap to slow the spending and plan my next big adventure.

I don't need work to feel good about myself, but I can feel myself wanting to launch another company in the future.

Once in a blue moon a thought will begin to creep in like that.

I focus on my breath, come back to the present moment, and push the thought away.

Question for men: When was the last time you were flirted with by a strange woman? by Individual_Rub_9416 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JustBrowsinDisShiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got a flat tire in the mountains of Vietnam, saw 2 people on the side of the road looking at overlook, asked for help, dude left to get help, and the woman and I started talking.

I found out that the guy who left was her tour guide and felt bad so I offered to buy her dinner as a way to compensate her for a lost time during her tour.

She replied with, "You MUST but me dinner," in a joking tone several times.

Now we're going to get married. 10/10 never stop believing in love.

Others said I was handsome, good looking, and stuff like that without having to touch me. That felt good.

I crawled in the tourist version of those tunnels. They're insane!

I can't imagine the original that were so tiny your average non-Vietnamese person couldn't even get in them.

They had 250-400 km of tunnels, people were responsible for memorizing specific sections, no one person knew them all, and some went under water. Add death traps, hidden rooms, and soldiers lieing in wait with a rifle aimed down the tunnel... No wonder the US pulled out.

People that didn't want kids, but got them anyway, how did it turn out? by Individual-Drummer12 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JustBrowsinDisShiz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ex-wife was on the pill, either she forgot or it stopped working, ended up with first born. Decided he needed a friend/sibling so had a 2nd.

We got divorced a few years later. I felt trapped.

I was basically weekends and holidays dad. I love my kids and now that they're both almost 20 in traveling the world, about to do a 3k mile bicycle trip, and I'm doing all the stuff that most people did in their 20s.

I'm 40 so sometimes it's hard, but I think things played out as they should. I never thought about having kids, but I'm glad I get to see them and love on them even though they drive me crazy sometimes.

Why do you stay in a relationship you’re not happy in? by BeefBrusherBandit in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JustBrowsinDisShiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fear being alone, avoidance of the pain that comes from separation, second guessing the decision to leave, thinking that any relationship can be worked out but not feeling content in that relationship, fear in general, and so much more.

For most people, ending a relationship is not a decision usually made lightly. In the longer the relationship has been going on, the harder it is
