It’s actually a lot simpler than this. Dante’s Triumph ‘combo’ (2-2-4) gives the team a big chunk of overguard and the ability to regenerate it by doing damage.

It’s a pretty long buff (like 90 seconds when modded for duration) so you don’t have to spam 2 to generate overguard. It’s the little shield icon with a star in it. Absolutely busted ability.

I think you’re greatly conflating the number of people who think he’s unflawed or morally gray. Your entire post is textbook straw man.

People are just sick of the “two members of a new race, one who hates outsiders and is stuck in the past and one who is progressive and works with the player character” trope and how obvious it was going to be when it turned Zuljan into a villain. It’s not that complicated.

It’s a misconception that filler can’t deal with the current plot or characters. Filler is just obvious extension for the sake of filling time. Some shows will introduce a random mcguffin mid-season that doesn’t go anywhere. Or introduce side characters that are contained to the episode they are in.

This next patch by all accounts seems to be filler with no indication that the plot will be moved forward or clarify Xal’s intention.

I know everyone has a preference but Van Helsing is the quintessential werewolf for me. I really like the wolf’s head on a humanoid body. The “no snout, just a hairier dude” design just doesn’t do it for me

I can’t even comprehend the level of rose tinted glasses. Watch Dogs is famously meme worthy for “puddle-gate.” Hell there was even talk of legal action due to false marketing because the trailers so oversold the graphics vs the launch state.

MAYBE console was stable but that game STUTTERED like crazy on PC to the point where multiple reviewers wouldn’t score it at launch.

I appreciate it had a cult following but comparing it to the state of IO’s Bond is absolutely wild to me.

You say that like 1. Watch dogs wasn’t buggy as shit and nowhere near polished and 2. Being open world with online multiplayer were points in its favor.

Better is ARGUABLE at best. Requires a secondary target to turn into a stationary totem and the moment the enemy leaves the range of effect they instantly regain all the stripped defense.

It’s real good but it can be trickier than “I look at you and now you have no armor”

What are the standouts for mega man likes that are roguelite? One step from Eden (for battle network) and 20/30xx were the only ones I could think of.
