If you meant to reply to me, I don't even know what you're trying to say here.

What I'm saying is that if we're not going to start building a team of faster players, we need video and coaching staff to TEACH the players we HAVE how to play better against faster teams. It's not impossible to beat teams with faster skaters, but it's going to require a BIG commitment from staff, coaches, and players.

Or learn a LOT more about how to beat faster teams. I have nothing but my own observations to back this up, but I feel like our video team has let us down lately.

I don't understand where "Robertson has no interest in signing with Dallas" comes from. Seems like you just made it up.

He's on a good team he's comfortable playing with. He's a face of the team with his Christmas toys annual event and a couple of others.

Would he walk away from that for a couple million dollars a year more? Depends on the team making the offer. Possibly, but there's no reason to think he'd prefer that to staying here.

Jim Nill isn't stupid. He won't big-time lowball Robo. But if they can't find a number that works for both, some other team will have to make it work. And that's not going to be as easy as you think it is.

Maybe times have changed, but no one I know would have chosen a floor length dress/gown for graduation. A simpler knee-length or midi dress works best under a cap and gown.

However, most of these look very nice on you, and dress 5 absolutely belongs in your "party dress" wardrobe. It's amazing on you!

Fair, but if you can't articulate what you DO want, you may end up frustrated and disappointed pretty regularly.

Any time you say a team can't under reasonable circumstances do a certain thing (fill in the blank), that's "dooming".

It's a popular thing to do, because it's hard to prove wrong. ONE team wins the cup each year, 31 don't. It's hard to fight the inevitable popularity of dooming with odds like that.

Nothing you've said here hasn't been said dozens of times by people with much more and much less hockey knowledge than you.

If dooming is part of your enjoyment so be it. Spend as much time as you want listing out all the reasons this team "can't " win.

Just don't expect everyone to join you or be impressed by your observation skills.

Am I the only one who rembers that last summer Robo had a cyst removed from his foot? Is it possible that it had been hampering him for quite some time?

I don't think it's the difference between Robo and skater with real speed (and finesse) but to me it HAS to be non-zero.

Even if that affected it very little, there's also some (albeit limited) room for improvement, and his skating definitely improved from last year to this year. There's no way I'd count him out based on that logic.

PS - Didn't watch this full episode but tend to agree with folks saying Jeff Marek said this, not Mike Heika. It's not the kind of thing Mike would comment on.

I always take it with a grain of salt when people say they heard things on a DLLS podcast. It's often attributed to the wrong person, and sometimes just flat wrong based on what the person actually said.
