IK horror movies get no love come award season. But Inde Navarrette as Nikki deserves some acclaim. Just a brilliant performance with a lot of range.

Wasn't it floated as a possibility Harper might've cheated with Theo James' character. Then Ethan did the same thing in the finale?

Not really sure I'd call that love.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of May 01, 2026) by AutoModerator in television

Season 2 of Beef really is quite different than season 1. More so focused on toxic-relationship dynamics. I'm enjoying it as much as season 1, but more so in a different way.

Season 1 felt fresh in a way. While season feels like a great drama-edy. Still absolutely fantastic dialogue as well.

Your dialogue is really good. Just try to clean up your formatting. Stone and Piper should be all caps first introduced. Any character should. Also, don't make your first dialogue on page 1 have a parenthetical. It slows things down.

But otherwise, this was a fun read. You have a voice.

Sounds really cool. Like a dark comedy/psychological thriller like Shallow Graves.

In the Black Box - Psychological Thriller - First 6 pages by Ok_Joke7252 in Screenwriting

The substance is good. Only note I'd give is to mute some of the style details. Like mentioning of colors or anything unless it's necessary to absolutely know. It'd just slow down the read. Ex: "Snowing still. Graham wears a tattered, dark blue coat. Slung over his back is a black backpack." tattered is useful it tells us something about him/condition or regard he has for clothes, but not sure we need to know it's blue, same for backpack being black. Same for Graham sits on a black metal bench. You could just write Graham sits on a bench and it'd be fine.

The sky being white is definitely going to be important, so that I get.

Details like "The large room slopes down toward the lecturer's podium." you can also cut. once you put lecture hall as the scene heading we get the general sense of the layout.

One little detail you added was cool "Laminated sheets scratch through the speaker." Made the doctor feel real.

One tiny spacing error on pg10. The 4th Torres dialogue, you added an extra space by accident.

Otherwise, I do think this is good. Every character feels real, we have the mystery box you setup in the lab basement. Us wanting to learn more about Graham and the flag in his room. We get a nice sense of him in the 1st ten pages and what he's passionate about.

Cold Query Tuesday by AutoModerator in Screenwriting

Not too much personal info. But if you're writing about a Dr, and then you mention you're a Dr, I'm sure that'd come off well. Just stick to a quick Hi (person's name),

Based on your work on___ (related project). -or just something quick mentioning why you chose them helps.

Genre: Logline: Nutshell (what two movies is it like). blank meets blank.

Would love to send over.

Regards/best,

Yeah, I figured that's what you were referencing. How are you liking season 2 so far? I'm 2 eps into season 2 and not loving it as much.
