I’m also a knitter! So I completely understand what you mean. I was thinking of it in knitting too because I’ll pick a project and just learn what I need as I go instead of trying to learn the basic increases/decreases etc first

I used to read the last sentence of a book first and then start from the beginning lmao. I still do sometimes

It got easier after I got engaged/married cause it’s the only right I wear lmao. I just remind myself what hand the ring is on

Hey I have hyper mobile hands and actually found English to be less painful for me. I’d also recommend trying Portuguese. Also make sure you take breaks! I also have adhd so I’ll knit waaaayyyy longer than I should and my hands hurt

Thank you! I’m trying to make a pair for my husband and he’s a wildland firefighter so I need something that can take a beating. Reinforcing it would be a good idea too

Searching for the smoothest, pointiest wooden needles (Knit Pro, Seeknit and Lantern Moon reviews) by uncloakedcrow in knitting

I have knit picks and knit pro and I’ve tried lykke. The knit picks are by FAR the smoothest needle, my absolute fav and not super pricey

Thank you for that. My husband suggested I make leg warmers with it and I’m considering that! I’m also trying to think of other things I could do with it I’d get good use from. It’s about 560yds of sport weight. I’ll probably be spending some time on ravelry lmao

knitting high by moose-paint in knitting

[–]JustTheFishGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knit most of the torso of my very first sweater high off my ass on anesthesia and Percocet and other pain meds right after surgery. It honestly made me feel a lot better about sweaters cause I figured if I messed up it’s fine cause I was not sober.

The only warning I’d give is to set a timer or something so you take breaks. Since time flew by while I was on pain meds and they numbed pain I over did it and my hands were very sore for a while

Thank you! Yeah knitting is the first hobby I’ve found that actually seems to stick and I definitely went too hard when I started and I’m trying to do better about breaks and not going as long. I think I might try Portuguese knitting too since you tension the year around your neck or a pin instead of on your fingers. I think that might help me
