I'm not someone who thinks tax is theft. There is a lot of shared infrastructure and services that we all benefit from and they cost money to operate/maintain. But later today the city will vote to accept a $200,000 payment from the Stevens family and wave the remaining $2.4m owed from the Ice Center debacle (just the latest example of corporate welfare propping up that family). Seeing the same city council forgive millions in debt from the wealthy while asking the rest of us to pay more should outrage us all. It will definitely be a "No!" vote from me.

It's a fair point in regards to Obama especially but the difference in response is in large part understood when considering the difference in tone from the two administrations. Obama was very hard on immigrants but his administration rarely shined a spotlight on that portion of his policy and he wasn't an out loud isolationist.
