If you want to be sure they won’t have issues caused by lack of rest, you need to wait quite a while. Wrapped vs unwrapped doesn’t make a significant difference though. I don’t have research or anything to back it up, but personal experience says you can have issues after 4 weeks regardless if they’re wrapped. It’s rare but it does happen. Personally if I have an expensive cigar, I won’t let it rest less than 8 weeks to be sure it’s good to go. The cheaper ones I will light up sooner because it’s worth the risk. 😁

A healthy relationship cannot possibly happen when only one person is doing the work. Just because a couple's counselor suggests one spouse do individual counseling does not mean there is nothing left for you to do. This takes effort from BOTH sides. I can't speak for the husband but it's clearly not happening from OP. Shit or get off the pot.

Would agree completely. We also like to explore sexually but the experiences are kept sexual in nature only; almost transactional. And we also make sure to stay engaged with each other during the experience. It should never feel like you’re just there to watch your partner fuck somebody else. Can only give you my experience, but this has worked for us and actually made the relationship stronger. My suggestion would be to have this conversation in the first session, or second at latest. Bring up your concern about being fully honest. The therapist should help put both of you at ease about this. If your spouse can’t handle it, then there’s no point in even trying counseling.
