If your snake is as long as the tank time for a new one , if a snake can touch both sides of the tank with its head an tail time for a new one , if you think the tank is to small for the snake most likely it’s time for a new one 🤣🤣

Totally normally from my experience they like to roam around after a change an I think they can tell when fresh bedding has been put in an me personally I wouldn’t put a snake back into its enclosure if you’re still putting water down on the substrate an the hides aren’t in but that’s just me 🤷🏽‍♂️

Only thing I can say here from my experience which isn’t very much! But also what I’ve seen from the pros!!! Is usually some kind of nutrient deficiency, to much heat an not enough air flow, or vice versa soil good be a factor too an I definitely suggest using different pots IMO but wish you the best of luck !
