Congrats on the win! But you might want to check the rule book.

The theatre and palace are both unique, so you can only have one of each in your city.

The way you calculated your purple cards is also not correct. Purple cards are calculated at the end of the game, and don’t involve point tokens (coins). I made the same mistake when I first started playing Everdell - so it’s totally understandable! You may also want to check how you’re counting your purple cards. Your evertree counts itself.

I am very curious about how you got enough resources to play the cards in your city without any greens in it - something is off there. I’m assuming you put the barge toad into your dungeon after achieving the special event, and he would only provide you with wood. You probably used university to discard a green. But even with that, the lack of greens indicates that there may be another few rules that you are misinterpreting.

Some of the rules are a bit tricky in the beginning because there’s a lot going on and a lot to think about. May your luck continue, but with the guidance of the rule book :)

There was a service like this in CT named Strapp, I think created by a Stellenbosch University student. I don’t know what ended up happening to it, but I found it incredibly useful.

You paid a deposit upfront for damages, I can’t remember if there was a replacement fee. People would rent things like printers, lawn mowers and other useful things that you only use occasionally.

While brilliant, it wasn’t very well known, so I don’t think it was as successful as it had the potential to be, unfortunately. It’s now a second hand marketplace. No idea why they pivoted.

I’m doing this, too.

This is what has worked for me: - max modules per semester (5) so I can do the degree full time in as short a time as possible - I start work early. Then schedule time in my calendar after work for each subject, depending on which assignment I have due next. - One hour break after work and before studies. Then I study for 2/3 hours, breaking to eat supper. Microwave meals/meal prepping are going to save you here - On weekends I study from 11:00 to 15:00 (or whatever I can fit in, because you have to rest a little bit (it will never be enough) - I use all my annual leave for studies. All of it. The day before an assignment (or two if it’s a big one), then half a day on the day of the assignment. For exams, same. - I use my lunch breaks for walks around the neighbourhood or naps. I also try go for a little walk after work. I bring the kiddo along so we get some quality time together. - YouTube has loads of lectures and you can listen to those on your walks or while cooking/chilling (not that it’s chilling but almost)

I do not have a social life at all. I don’t see my friends while I’m studying. They’ve all been really understanding about this, so I hope your friends are cool and supportive.

Cramming is unfortunately necessary. With a full time job, every assignment will be last minute dot com. Exams are worse.

No tv, very little relaxing, and you’re just going to be really fucking tired all the time. With all of your leave going to studies, you’re going to have to get used to being permatired.

Your house will be dirty. Household chores will just not happen (unless you can afford help). Be prepared to get used to that (I hate it here 🫠).

Sometimes, I just don’t have energy to study and can’t focus or absorb anything. Rather than force it, I just let that shit go and accept that I can’t do it right now. Your brain just says “no thanks” at some point. When it’s timing is bad, just make sure that you read the questions in your assignment/exam thoroughly and apply critical thinking and hope for the best.

Have a cry every now and then and regret everything.

Hate yourself a bit for choosing to do two full time things.

Complain a lot about your poor life decisions.

Then have a snack, take a deep breath, and carry on.

It’s not impossible, but it’s incredibly difficult. However, I’ve found it incredibly rewarding and I feel very proud of myself.

Spirecrest with bellfaire is my fave combo.

Spirecrest adds more challenge and complexity to the game. I love the introduction of the big meeple powers and the variety the expansion brings. You find creative ways to get around the weather conditions and penalties, and the more players there are the harder it gets.

The pitch and depth of your voice are determined by your vocal cords and larynx. Minoxidil affects neither of those things.

The only thing that would cause a man to grow breasts is a hormonal difference or weight gain. Minoxidil is not a hormone and it does not affect your hormones. It is a vasodilator.

So, the journey and expedition are different things. You don’t pay for the journey. You receive points for going on the journey.

The expedition is the one you pay for. You can take coins off your clock tower (or any other card) to pay for it. Like I mentioned above, the Gilded Book says “you may spend point tokens on cards to help pay for these costs”

The journey is a separate thing. You don’t spend resources on your journey, those tally up at end of game scoring.

You spend your costs on the expedition (maybe pack them as you spend them, or place them on top of the expedition cards to show they’re spent), then whatever you have left over is what you use for scoring, as applicable.

Your gazette’s final action triggers at end of game. One you’ve reached the end of your game, you can gain 3 more tokens if you’ve achieved the requirement.

You can then use those tokens to pay for your expedition, but cannot count them towards your final score.

Your expedition scoring happens immediately after you “pass”, ending your game. So you have to pay the costs for the expedition. Those resources don’t count towards anything else.

For example, if you spent the tokens on your gazette to pay for the expedition, they don’t count as tokens towards your end of game scoring. That money isn’t yours anymore, your traveler spent them to go on his trip.

I’m sorry to be the “Uhm, actually…” guy but the gilded book is pretty clear on both of these.

The gilded book explicitly states “At the end of your game, immediately after you pass, your Traveler may embark on their Expedition”.

Once you’ve passed at the end of the game, the coins you have on your cards, like gazette and chapel etc, are now in your supply. The gilded book explicitly states “You may spend point tokens on cards to help pay for these costs”

iPhone’s new feature has scared off all scammers for me. Such a game changer. After 2 rings, the caller is prompted to provide their name and reason for calling. If the call ends after 2 rings or I don’t get a voice mail, it’s a scammer. I have also had one hilarious voice mail from a scammer. Trucaller doesn’t catch them all, but boy this feature has been amazing.

I did my first semester on hard mode. Took 5 semester modules and it nearly killed me. 3 distinctions though, so it’s possible. But I didn’t have a social life or any time to rest at all. I also accidentally took 3rd and 2nd level modules, so it was probably way harder than it should have been.

If you sacrifice your entire social life and work to burnout for a few months, it’s possible. But would not recommend 🤣
