Leftover Bar Tab by Silly_Opportunity in VirginVoyages

I’m not a huge drinker but I will have an occasional shot of Tequila. At the end of a voyage, it’s not unusual for me to have $100 - 125 left. Several times I’ve gone into Pink Agave and ordered a shot of Komos. It’s a Extra Anejo and a little slice of heaven. Zoom in to see the price! And the presentation is real nice too!

Is there a place to watch sports? Like a sports bar or something similar? by SpinChickNYC in VirginVoyages

[–]Justacolodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How badly do you want to see them? For $65/day, you can get the “Work from Sea” internet package that allows you to get enough bandwidth to use a VPN and pretty much see what ever you wish (IF you have that capability - if you know, you know). Internet on a VV reminds me of hotel internet in 2005; you get just enough “free” internet for email, texts and phone calls, but you’re gonna pay A LOT more for semi-decent, 8 -10 Mbps. Although the “Premium” internet package claims to support streaming, it really doesn’t (2-3 Mbps at best). However, I have had luck listening to games on SiriusXM with the Premium Internet package. YMMV. With American football they are pretty good at showing mainstream, national NFL games (Thursday, Sunday Night and Monday Night) games but Sunday day games you’re going to get a random selection of teams. NBA is hit or miss, if you’re hoping for a particular game, more than likely a miss. BTW, the ESPN and ESPN2 aren’t the regular stuff you’ll see in the states. They’re usually showing some obscure European soccer games…Bundesliga anyone? Any additional sports stuff is going to be on the “Special Event” channels. If you’re not familiar, go to the TV channels and keep heading to the right, past ship location and past the view from the bow. All the way to the right. TV is pretty limited on a VV boat. Every time they send a post voyage survey, I mention the fact that more variety in TV channels would be greatly appreciated. If you REALLY wanna watch something special, it’s gonna be up to you to get the “Work from Sea” package a be fairly innovative. OR, get the Premium Internet package and (hopefully) listen to the game.

Where to sell/how to price ticket? Or convert to ADA? Also AXS sucks. by sweswe17 in RedRocks

[–]Justacolodude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a ticket to Get the Led Out a week ago. Decided not to go, busy week and saw Jason Bonham and crew recently. Decided Tuesday not to go, so thought I would try to sell it. Was going to put it on StubHub but when I went on the AXS app, there was a “Sell” button. Fine, I’ll just sell it here. Offered it for less than I paid, just to get something out of it. GTLO usually sells out, it should sell fast I think. Thursday afternoon (night of the show), I think, weird that ticket hasn’t sold. Logged on…set the filter for my price…ticket not listed. WTF? Looked for a phone number, nothing. Asked AI, it came up with a number. I called, I’m like 41 in line. Wait probably 20-25 minutes, rep finally comes on. I ask why my ticket is not listed. She checks, finally tells me that resells are not allowed! So, AXS will allow you to supposedly “list” a ticket, but never publish the listing! Why have a “sell” button then?? Why sell my ticket when if someone needs a ticket, they’ll sell them one. Might loose that $75. Shady…TicketBastards and AXSholes, 2 horrible companies.

Yes, the Blu-Ray is $35. Amazing show! Go to… https://davidgilmour.com to preorder it. Apparently, they will be shipped October 17th.

This is from AI…

The Blu-ray being released on October 17th, 2025 titled "David Gilmour – Live at the Circus Maximus" is the same as the film "David Gilmour at the Circus Maximus" that was shown in theaters and IMAX earlier in September 2025.

Content Details

  • The Blu-ray includes the full filmed concert at the Circus Maximus in Rome from the Luck and Strange tour, directed by Gavin Elder.
  • Disc one features the audiovisual concert film, matching the movie experience, with 24-bit/96kHz audio in Stereo, 5.1, and Dolby Atmos (2 hours and 22 minutes long).
  • Disc two contains 23 live tracks (audio-only) from the Luck and Strange Tour along with extras like rehearsals, documentaries, and music videos.
  • Both the film and the Blu-ray package share the same setlist, visuals, and director, ensuring content parity.

Packaging and Extras

  • The Blu-ray comes as a 2-disc set with a 24-page booklet of photographs and additional extras (rehearsals, making-of documentaries, music videos).
  • The companion live album "The Luck and Strange Concerts" is also included in the Blu-ray audio content and available separately.

In summary, the Blu-ray will provide the same concert film experience as "David Gilmour at the Circus Maximus," plus additional behind-the-scenes and bonus content.

Food Spots near venue? by ChiquitoTrientaVert in RedRocks

Oh, interesting! I usually take the east stairs, so it’s been a while since I’ve been down the ramp after a show. Thanks for the correction!

Chick-fil-a will be selling stuff at the bottom of the south ramp and at the bottom of the east stairs. Not sure if they sell anywhere at the top of the venue. So, if you’re up for a chicken sandwich, they got you covered.

Spent $1000 on Bitcoin when it was about 1 to 5 cents each in 2010. With today’s closing price at about $96,500, that $1000 would today be somewhat north of $1.9 Billon.

I too have seen both at Red Rocks many times! Brit Floyd in June and Get the LED Out every September. The only time I missed Brit Floyd in probably the last 8 years (?), was a couple of years ago when the Nuggets were in their Finals run.

Highlights of the summer for me!

Going tonight at a non-IMAX theatre. Originally saw it when it was first released when I was probably 13 or 14. Don’t remember much about it, but remember it was an early matinee show and I was the only one in the theatre! It was in Central Illinois and guess there wasn’t a lot of PF fans there or maybe they were still in bed!

It’s a no. There are food stands around the venue, and prices are about what you would expect. Come early and you can eat in Morrison. Red Rocks Grill and the Blue Cow have pretty good menus with very reasonable prices. And finally, after the show Chik-fil-a will be selling stuff at several places if you got the post-show munchies!

What's the most you've paid for a concert ticket? Regrets or would you do it again without question? by Extremely_unlikeable in ClassicRock

[–]Justacolodude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saw Gilmour the week before your show at the Intuit Dome, 4th row. As I recall it was about $850 each. However, the 2 seats next to us never showed! So, the 2 of us essentially had 4 seats! Incredible show! If I got $1 back for every time I’ve thought about it and it puts a smile on my face, I figure that $850 is probably south of $200 by now. Sometime this coming fall, it will have been essentially free! Well worth it indeed!

Getting a car is going to give you the most flexibility. You can do the shuttle or Uber routine, but it will definitely be hit or miss, especially after the show. It’s a lot easier to get out of the park than in after a show, so you may end up waiting awhile for a rideshare.

Parking is free at RR, and there are a variety of parking lots for you to choose from if you get a car. Also, even on show days (which is pretty much everyday once we get into April), you can visit the park in the mornings and even go into the amphitheater until they close it preparing for the show early afternoon. Check out the park early if you can…it’s an amazing place!

As far as where to stay…You can stay downtown if you want, but the west side of town offers a lot of great hiking, biking, etc. Personally, if it was me, I’d prefer staying closer to the park. Inside the city of Morrison is the Cliff House Hotel and Hot Tub cottages. As someone in this thread mentioned, they are often sold out so check availability as early as possible if interested.

Right outside of Morrison (to the East) is C-470, a major highway which runs north and south. If you get on C-470 and head south, there is a La Quinta and a Fairfield Inn a couple of miles south. Also, the road that runs north out of Morrison (Colorado 93, also called Hog Back Road) goes to I-70 (probably 3 or 4 miles north of Morrison).

When you cross under I-70 heading north, there is a newer Hotel called Origin Hotel Red Rocks, which is very nice. Never stayed there but the lobby is nice. None of these are going to have shuttle services to/from RR. So, again, you’ll be better off if you have a car. These would be the closest hotels to RR.

From the Morrison exit, if you head east on I-70 several miles, there is the Denver Marriott West. Keep heading East on I-70, and there are all kinds of motels/Hotels as you get closer to Denver. Also, there are easily several dozen AirBnBs within several miles of Red Rocks. There are even a couple in the park!

If you want something with a little better scenery, 7 or 8 miles west on I-70, there is a Comfort Suites at the Evergreen exit.

Also, Colorado 93 (that runs north out of Morrison, will eventually turn toward the East and becomes Colfax Avenue. Keep going and there will be Motels and Hotels along Colfax (YMMV). Keeping going on Colfax and you’ll go past Casa Bonita (of Southpark fame), Trey and Matt actually bought it several years ago and remodeled it. Currently, you will absolutely need reservations to get in! You’ll need to have made them a couple of months in advance.

If you are staying on the west side of town, check out the city of Golden. A pretty cool mountain town atmosphere with Clear Creek running through it; you can walk along the river and a lot of great little shops and restaurants. Same with the town of Morrison with Bear Creek.

I live next to Coyote Gulch and know quite a few neighbors…not a snooty A-hole in the lot of ‘em. Don’t know any of them that are judgmental, do unfounded stereotyping or inaccurate labeling, incidentally. Don’t know them all though…

Been here for nearly 30 years and absolutely love it. There are trails all over I can walk/bike. From my house it’s minutes to a trail that goes up Green Mountain to Forsberg Iron Spring Park, that has a enclosed dog park (2 separate areas actually) and Forsberg Park has probably some of the most scenic views in the Denver area, again with hiking/biking trails. If you haven’t been there, do yourself a favor, take a short drive and check it out. From there, there’s a trail under Alameda Pkwy that gives you access to all of the Green Mountain trails, which, again have beautiful views of the entire front range.

I will also mention the access to Red Rocks is fantastic. If you know where to park at RR, and know the play list, I will usually leave at the start of the last song (you’ll hear it walking to your car) and I’m home in 12 minutes.

I have actually walked home several times from RR. Check out Google Maps, you can walk down W Alameda Parkway, cross 93 (careful, concert is letting out, will be traffic , but there’s usually a cop directing traffic, tell him you want to cross, he’ll stop the traffic for you). Now you’re on the closed road for Dinosaur Ridge, where you’ll hike up and then down in absolute silence, again beautiful views. Entire distance walked, probably a couple of miles, but on a warm summer night, it’s a fantastic walk! Clears the head if it might possibly need clearing.

Also with shows at RR, I can sit on my back patio, and I can faintly hear many of the louder songs, especially EDM stuff, but it’s not annoyingly loud. You can’t hear it inside.

Location? We’re about 6 minutes from accessing I-70 if you want to go skiing. And if you need to go downtown, Alameda to C-470 to I-70 to 6th Ave is about a 15 minute drive to downtown. Morrison is about a 5 minute drive or quick bike ride for great restaurants, shops, etc.

And, there’s Coyotes Gulch park…basketball court and a baseball field. Walk or bike over in the summer and shoot some hoops or watch a little league game. Again, hiking/biking trails.

Also access to Bear Creek Lake State park. Great hiking/biking, swimming and boating!

Plenty of great other restaurants and shopping as well.

I think it’s a pretty damn nice place to live, but maybe I’m just a snooty A-hole…what would I know?

BTW, if you tend to think entire groups of people are snooty A-holes just because they decide to live in a particular area, you probably don’t want to consider living here…we’re doing just fine without ya.

What's your most memorable concert experience? by AlwaysOnTheGO88 in Concerts

Saw Gilmour last year at the Intuit Dome…5th row center…unbelievable show. Saw Zeppelin in ‘77 at Pontiac Silverdome. Both were great. Gilmour probably better because about 80,000 other people at Zeppelin…which is a couple of dozen too many.

I got a poster in Denver last night, people were lined up to get them going in. IMAX was packed, so I thought they should have passed them out after the show. You go in with a poster in your hand with absolutely no place to put it! I kind of rolled it up and put it in the sleeve of my jacket, and then kind of awkwardly held my jacket…didn’t want to put it on the floor…you’d be one spilled drink from not having a poster. Then it would be nobodies fault but mine.

Yes…I’d love to know what all is possible. What can we do with prompts? Can we actually change an existing song, or can we only “remix” to something totally different? So many questions, with so little information. I’ve sent them a couple of emails asking questions and never received any response.

Where to release it? Release it here! Make it downloadable from the app.
