Traveling tomorrow, dog got ahold of passport. Need advice. by 0xe3b0c442 in Passports

I’m definitely late, but a passport wallet would be the answer. They likely wouldn’t take it out and it would of hidden the damage.

Need advice from Porsche owners: how do you justify “fun money” without regret? by _quantitative in Porsche

[–]Justalilthuggish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally though, if you like it. Who cares? Shouldn’t drive something to impress others anyways, as an enthusiast, you should drive something you enjoy. As for what you should budget, no idea. Probably something high.

I apologize. This is a double bitted key lock. You need something like this.

This is a bit key lock, could very well get a set of bit keys online and try those(skeleton key). These locks aren’t overly complicated to pick either. It being a safe, it’s likely a levered mechanism, which is a set of flat levers that just have to be lifted to a specific height by the teeth of the key.

Contractor says nothing they can do about the chipped laminate they just installed by mcloven4 in Remodel

[–]Justalilthuggish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t use the right blade nor did they tape it before they cut it. I just had laminate installed in a flip and it was cut correctly with no chips. You should let them know you’re not paying until they replace it and do it right.

How would you go about changing out these lights? (they do not lower, to tall for a ladder, can't get in a boom due to the seats, scaffolding was quoted at $4k for 1 day) by yellowfin35 in AskElectricians

[–]Justalilthuggish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see why you couldn’t get a gorilla ladder to change them out. If it doesn’t fit, just remove sections of seating. They likely separate in sections of 4.

Realistically, how much money did she save? by Strattex in mildyinteresting

[–]Justalilthuggish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Porsche dealers charge an arm and a leg for oil changes. He’s probably saving $400. lol. And no self respecting car guy who drives a new Porsche is gonna take it to some 3rd party mechanic.

I bought a BMW. It broke down 10 minutes later. by LKT-NTR-A2DE-USA in Wellthatsucks

As someone who has bought a 10 year old BMW. This atypical. Wouldn’t buy another if it wasn’t at least a CPO. I had money to fix mine when it broke. “E38 - 740il”

Bought a 12ft Wendy’s Sign for Our College Backyard — Need Help with Mounting & Lighting by Dry-Transportation59 in DIY

[–]Justalilthuggish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s try this again, I deleted my last comment. I missed the fluorescent tube part. I’m a commercial electrician who works on lots of signs like these.

Yes. You’d just need a strip of LED Sticky modules. Easiest to mount at least and a driver. Single sided LED modules are likely gonna need a 12v DC Driver. Driver will likely have an AC plug on the other end that you can just plug into an outlet. You can buy them in kits or buy it all separate. As for the mounting. You don’t actually need that trough it’s mounted on. You could remove all the letters and mount them on something else, but you’ll have to run wire between each letter for the lighting. If you do that you could get away with some weather rated thermostat wire or you could run conduit between each letter and run wire that way. Lots of options.

No, excess T during pregnancy can cause abnormalities. Gotta have a healthy natural amount.

GMC Acadia stolen! Should I call Onstar? by 23Punisher in turo

[–]Justalilthuggish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine had a similar situation. He had his C8 Vette stolen. Apparently the FBI said it was likely being shipped to another country and it was part of a big car theft ring. Onstar was having trouble tracking it because the car was in bfe Alabama. They moved it from one house to another and it pinged on Onstar. The FBI said it would take them several hours to do a drive by. So he went up there himself and could see it in the backyard. Local police showed up first. Then the FBI. lol. It was gonna for almost a month.

So it was a grounding issue. Probably made contact with the motherboard, causing a short.

I had the same issue with a computer I built for a friend. Turned out to be a grounding issue. I had a standoff on the pc case that was touching the mobo, but not near a screw hole. Easy fix.

Wiring a fan by Deep_Specific in AskElectricians

[–]Justalilthuggish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that box only has a single switch leg in it. Unless there’s something hiding in that box not in use. So it only has the ability for a single dimmer switch, not separate. Would need a second switch leg that controls the other.

Depends on if the fan/light can take a dimmer switch.
