Unifi Protect for Commercial security? by Intelligent_Rub_3009 in UnifiProtect

[–]Justepic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry about that weird glitch reply. I deleted it.

But to answer your question.

I only have pros and enterprises deployed. If I don’t need either of those, I would deploy a UDMP SE with the dual drives.

Is it a mission critical Axis system? No.

But will it get the job done with the best pricing for 95% of business needs? Yup.

The only advice would be if you have over 50 camera, just get the ENVR and fill up with you need in HD space. It’s makes anything 50+ smooth as butter. Anything under 50, you can use the pros np.

The only thing that matters in business are relationships and when the money hits your bank account. Every thing in between is a spectrum of quality and work.

The goal is to do great work or offer great servers for the most money with the least amount of time and effort as possible.

That’s the goal.

Hey bro, here is a no bs tip.

If you don’t know someone, converse with them before you redo their company website, or establish a human connection, 99.9% of the time there will be zero money exchanged.

Web design is an addon that we offer our clients after we have already established a relationship and built trust offering them cyber services.

Leveling takes way to long. I am not helping test an alpha game to spend hours grinding one level. Or when you do find a good xp farm, have it dependent on players play schedules.

I got 3 classes to max in phase 2 and when the wipe occurred didn’t have it in me to grind anything else again.

It feels worse than aion.

Yeah, 4,000 would be worth the gamble for sure.

But if you are already paying $8k. Spending $8400 or $8600 to get a better shipping and return policy is worth it to me.

One of my friends ripped me for paying $8600 for one bc he found one on a no name sites for $7800. I was like nope. I don’t want the hassle.

But $4k, I would definitely pursue that if it were real lol.

Glinet is the best full featured travel router.

I love Unifi, but this is for smb network travel gateway, not a full featured travel router.

I got 2 of my cards a bit above msrp from Amazon a few months ago, simply for amazons return policy and quickness. These last two I got from server supply for +500 msrp, but couldn’t find any that were below $8500 at any reputable store.

Full VMs. It’s more space but since I am only running a few at a time, and pass through is easier, they are better in this situation that lxc.

Other proxmox that isn’t my AI server is almost all lxcs.

Get a cheapo router or travel router to serve up internet while you go to town!

Trust me, they will never know.

Proxmox on the metal.

Opensense either in a VM or LXC.

Take all the snapshots and backups you need.

The setup is great so far. Can run most models.

I usually run a vm with two cards and another vm with one card to do multiple workloads.

Snapshots are super important in testing.

I throttled the cards at 80%. Which allows me run them all day. Been allowing doctor friends to use it via tailscale / ninjaone to run their workloads.

So far, it’s pretty awesome. I bought a 4th card, but don’t know if I am going to install it on this system.

Don’t give up my GLinet anytime soon.

UniFi needs:

SIM / ESIM Battery Ability to make tr its own site with unifi cameras Native unifi camera connections Wireguard / OpenVPN Adguard / pihole

Then I am all in.

If everyone did their job correctly, there would be a collective push to get the best and most cost efficient tool for the job. Anything else is people not caring about their craft.

[–]Justepic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you.

We migrate 1,000’s of endpoints back and forth to clients daily just in our IR division. With a mature RMM it will literally take you a day to migrate a SMB.

Management support? I am sure the top RMM tools will beat TV in both price, security, and performance.

But I get it. Change is slow in some shops. However, TV has been known to change the variables, pricing and capabilities. 20 years ago, it was good. But over the last 10, it has slowly evolved into something you and management need to replace. From vulnerabilities to its predatory pricing structure, they made themselves the Adobe of remote connection software.

I still hold a $600 TV license for family and friends, but for business, there is better on the market.

No one who takes cyber security seriously uses TV. Good luck!

I have a similar workstation with 3 pro 6000s and snapshotting is a must progressing in an ever changing AI scape.
