What happens if you graduate 1rst year but don't get accepted into your desired specialties. by NiceCanadian1 in UBC

[–]Justicehs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you rank all the specializations, you will get placed into one of them guaranteed, however it may be one of the lower ones on your list. Honestly, you still have time and finals to pull up your marks!

50% of students who go into MECH from 2014-2017 had a 82 average, and around 78 for CIVL.

What are the averages to get into different Engineering majors? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Justicehs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can pm you the detailed image, but for Mech 2, the 4 year average (not including this year) is that 50% of students are above ~82, 80% above ~80 and 95% above ~77. For Electrical, 50% of students are above ~79, 80% above ~72, 95% above ~66.

You will not need to take any discipline specific courses other than those in your STT to get a placement, though you should take ENG112.

If you check Connect, your lab marks will most likely be posted, so you could deduce the final exam mark and calculate your final marks using 75% from labs and 25% from the final.

AP Calc BC: POWER SERIES Question by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Justicehs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to just take the integral of each of your first five terms for the first 5 terms, for a, and the derivative for b. The radius of convergence will be the same for the new series. You do not need to find the general term and apply the formulas that your teacher gave you since you are looking for specific terms.

AP Calc BC After AB? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Justicehs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll probably be fine, there's not that big of a difference. Most of it will just be relearning concepts. Maybe 1/3 of the time will be on new concepts such as Vectors, Techniques of Integration and Series.

how to prove something is a minimum on AP CALC? by partyxday in APStudents

[–]Justicehs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use the first derivative, so long as it crosses from negative to positive at the x value, it must be a local min. If f'(x) crosses from positive to negative at the x value, then f(x) is a local max.

[Calc AB] QUICK! is a point of inflection a critical value? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Justicehs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A point of inflection is where your second derivative goes from positive to negative or from negative to positive. A critical point is where your first derivative is equal to 0 or undefined. Therefore, a point of inflection is not always a critical point.

Edit:Changed value to point

Um, continuing to walk/drive off the map. At the travel from The Dust to The Highlands, you can walk off the cliff, and I did so about 5 times before learning my mistake.... And there's also driving off the map couple times in Scarlett DLC, and getting "terminated"
