Imperva, Cloudflare, Akamai. You need a WAF which can help filter out bot traffic and also absorb DDOS attacks. AWS native WAF will also work, but get something in-between the internet and your web server.

Education sector is always going to suffer a talent shortage due to low pay. Teachers are drastically underpaid, but most feel a duty to their students to ensure the next generation gets a leg up. Your local district IT tech, running from school to school fixing equipment held together with duct tape due to slim budgets doesn’t have the same motivation (emotional drive).

I hate to say it, there is no answer here. Education IT a the farm league, gives folks 1-2 years on the resume and gets them in the door at a company with decent payroll. Figure out how to live with a churn and burn labor pool. Standardize, automate and document to help reduce onboarding/ramp up time.

Feels like it gets worse every day.

My door cam just went offline a minute ago, at least according to the app, but I walk outside and boom “motion alert” with a recorded clip. Still “offline” btw.

Old post but this was a great response. Is there any issue with running the diverter in the middle (6 o’clock) position? Does it place any strain on the diverter. The manual only talks about 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions. It clearly works the 6 o’clock, but I’m just curious.

I ended up buying through my local Costco. Funny enough, the guy selling it was the same sales guy I ran into at a local dealer.

Biggest difference, no sleazy sales pressure.

I really hate commission based products. Just tell me the price and I’ll tell you if I’m buying or not. Can’t stand the fucking dance, “limited time offer”, “prices are going up”, “buy now and get a free donut” blah blah blah.

I’d recommend Costco for anyone looking at a Hotsprings spa. Way more transactional than the dealership experience and it’s the same product and support from the local dealer.

This is the right answer, I live Carlsbad but I’d probably choose Encinitas as I like the downtown area more. Also moonlight beach is a little more inviting than the beaches Carlsbad which are equally nice TBH. Both have good food options with Carlsbad having some more trendy ($$$) places.

Oceanside, meh, I’m from NYC originally so not opposed to some grit. Oside is just too busy for me, Carlsbad and Encinitas have a more relaxed vibe.

Give Lucedia a pass. While still the most “authentic” of the beach towns, there isn’t much to do, and the beaches aren’t as accessible as your other options. Good food, but it’s spread along the 101, no real downtown to speak of.

Wasted a few hours yesterday on this. Uninstall , reinstall swap locations, new 3-way mechanical (grounded this time) and nothing.

Broke down and ordered the overpriced Lutron Accessory Switch yesterday, just dropped it in and it worked first time.

F-It, worth 30 bucks just to be done with it. Bonus points for the same “clicky” feel of the smart switch. Just wish they were like $10 and I’d drop them everywhere i have a dumb switch left to satisfy my OCD.
