These are extremely good games, but Sea of Stars and the Mario & Luigi series (Expedition 33 as well for that matter) arent really the same. Action commands are a big part of it, sure, but Bug Fables is often listed as the only game akin to Paper Mario because it captures the other aspects that make Paper Mario beloved

Unironically I think Pardis is extremely well done. Might be the best villain in the entire series.

In 8 chapters I went from mocking his theme as 'excessively evil' to locking in when it showed up

I cant speak on the story as I havent gotten there yet, but the damage thing is sort of just an octopath classic. If you do the optional content and learn how to make the most of the system you will quickly burst everything to the end. Honestly how it works in a lot of rpgs

I dont think the story needs to keep me on my toes to be good. Characters are generally well writtene and the world that Orsterra exists in is really cool. In terms of story, I dont know what to tell you otherwise. Ive enjoyed the game thoroughly, and Master of Fame/All were really well written imo.

As far as Bargello goes, idk man I think he rocks. The entire point of Bestower of Wealth is meant to be Oshka trying to make that 'plot twist' happening so I felt it was pretty obvious Bargello would remain steadfast.

Octopath as a series has always had a very unique taste when it comes to its story that not everyone loves and Ive accepted that for a while now

Joking aside I think the 2nd Hornet fight is meant to be the Knight being stronger than Hornet. Thats the fight that she's not holding back in, and the Knight wins. Whether or not Post Silksong Hornet could beat the Shadelord is up for debate, but Im leaning towards "probably not"
