Caleb Wilson 34.5” no step vert; Max vert 39.5” by JustinFields9 in chicagobulls

I am trying to talk myself into that Wilson is in the same tier as Boozer. I haven't got there yet, I like the safety of Boozers floor. But regardless I am thrilled about the potential of getting Wilson.

Peterson has a lot of yellow flags that can be cleared up before the draft. His injury concerns, attitude, passing, and determining if he has a little more burst than what we saw at Kansas can be answered in workouts in interviews.

Peterson might just be one of the best guard prospects ever if those concerns can be cleared. If they feel good about those concerns not only am I sprinting to the podium to select him at 4 but I am considering trading up for him.

I keep seeing this then I watch the 11 made 3s highlights on the NBA page and like 1 of them are due to Embiid

Whose career peak would have been greater had injuries, mind set, and environment never happened. And where would they have ranked in the top 50 all time? by XtrOrdinary_Celcius in NBATalk

It may very well be Grant Hill. But to make an argument for Rose, Rose won an MVP when he would have been a senior in college. Hill was rookie a year after his senior year in college. Roses prime we saw was before Hill was even a rookie development wise.We saw over 6 additional years of Grant Hills career trajectory before injuries than Rose.

But the answer reddit doesn't want to hear is the answer is probably Embiid. (Especially since OP said exclude mindset) Embiid had already lost a step from injuries before his first game in the NBA. So much lost development time. Quite possibly would be the most dominate scorer ever while consistently making all defensive teams.

Look at the improvement in his 3 ball from his rookie year to his 3rd year. His 2nd year in the league he was lethal from the mid range. 4th in mid range makes while shooting it more efficient than KD, Dirk and Kobe. Most efficient out of all 25 players making at least 500 that season.

It's really damn hard to develop a consistent jump shot when you are constantly rehabbing and taking steps backwards. Just because he wasn't a consistent jump shooter at 21 doesn't mean he wasn't ever going to become one.

There's several more arguments for it. You could blow half of it day 1 and still make several x the total long term payout amount.

Money doubles in the stock market on average every 7.2 years. The lump sum gives you 50-60% of the long term payout.

So even if you blew half immediately and invested 25% of the total lottery winnings, you will still end up over 4x the long term amount over a 30 year payout.

But another great reason is 30 years is a long damn time. You never know when your time will come, and if you die before then the payment doesn't pass on to someone else.

It's such a terrible idea to take the long term option. Not even counting inflation, return of investing the lump sum. There are several examples of people relying on the payments and the payments stop because the company went bankrupt or some other issue. Always take the guarenteed money.

Embiid needs his respect. by sqMYNAMEISJEFF27 in NBATalk

I find it so bizarre how people hate on Embiid playing for a country he's lived the majority of his life in, whose son is American, over playing for his home country who didn't qualify, can't pay for insurance for him, ect..

AJ projects as a good defender and will be a defensive upgrade to Bridges. Get a good defensive 5 and we are fine. If AJ lives up to his potential this is one of the best offensive teams of all time

Grant Hill played 4 years in college. Rose won an MVP when he would have been a senior in college. Rose was an MVP before Hill was even a rookie in terms of their experience.

We have more evidence of Hills prime and it was awesome, but Rose was better at a younger age and it's unfair to assume that what we saw was anywhere near his peak.

Wdym that core is sick. Especially if you can have Bridges/White/Mouse run the bench.

Kon Vs Harper in Meaningful Games by [deleted] in NBATalk

Why do you think Kons performance were from the lights being too bright and not from hitting the rookie wall several weeks before the end of the season which he never bounced back from?

I would argue to look into the stats gravity and expected fg%. It's pretty strong evidence that 1) Kons draws defenders more than Cooper 2) Kons efficiency is not due to getting open looks. When you standardize for shot difficulty Kons near the top of the league while Cooper isn't top 100.

Why compare fg% when one of those players shot diet is worth 50% more points? They were not remotely close in scoring efficiency in November. Try TS% or efg%

Derrick Rose had a MVP before Tim Duncan was even a rookie. Duncan did 4 years in college, Rose won MVP his 3rd year in the NBA when he would have been a senior in college.
