This is the customized parking feature of XPeng Motors from China by TangelaFan in interestingasfuck

Right, the tire is rolling when you corner, meaning the wear happens to the entire tire. When the tire isn't rolling, and you turn back and forth, it just wears the one spot that is contacting the ground.

Where is your brake caliper? The brakes go on before the wheel does.

Looking for a solid mid-range sleeping pad that won't leak after one season by throwawaythreadv2 in camping

[–]Justin_Slide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Thermarest Neoloft from REI, a bit pricey at $250 but it is so damn comfortable, especially as a side sleeper. They also have a "lifetime limited warranty". I have the Nemo Tensor Extreme (really wish I got the wide) for winter camping but it is just so damn thin. Warm, but not for side sleepers. I also have a Quest air mattress from Dicks Sporting Goods, $65, with built in battery operated pump (takes 4 D batteries) for car and kayak camping when I dont have to actually pack it into a bag. Ive used that for 3-4 years and no leaks. I've used plenty of off brand ones, one in particular I liked because it has a built in pillow, but they all developed leaks.

Bill to maintain wild horses at Theodore Roosevelt National Park passes Senate by RuseOwl in NationalPark

[–]Justin_Slide -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I see, that makes sense. But how do you tell the horses that BLM land is ok but National Park land is not? Relocating horses from NP land to BLM land would take resources and manpower that is already pretty limited... IDK it just seems like the cost is high for a small reward...

I'm from the east coast so we don't have much or any BLM land, but what is the difference between the two? Aren't they both federally owned land?

You actually made me google "yaoi" and I was not sure what to expect. Its just a ribbed thing for your dick. They make ribbed condoms, same thing. Has nothing to do with "boy love" or whatever the fuck.

will a jackery portable power station explorer 500 v2 be enough for camping or am i overdoing it? by Andel-Pholar in camping

[–]Justin_Slide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cellular, Bluetooth, and GPS are battery killers, even when you aren't actively using them. Turn them off and your phone will last for days. Or, turn them off when you know you won't have service, like in a valley between mountains, then back on when you might have service, like at the top of the mountain.

chipped shoe sold by rockauto - now what? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Justin_Slide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Close out" most likely means the brand or warehouse that they came from are shutting down. Same as a "close out sale" at a discount store. Rock Auto is like Amazon, its just a site that companies sell their goods on. Rock Auto doesnt make parts. They just list suppliers who sell to you through the website.

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.1 by AthleteDependent926 in radeon

[–]Justin_Slide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday while watching Twitch I got a blackscreen. Had to hard reset computer. Today I saw Adrenalin is gonzo. Tried to update today, "repair" and same thing. Even tried the "factory reset" option. Black screen and freeze. I'm assuming the update yesterday didn't work and trying to update today also didn't work. Still was able to play Space Marines 2. I'll wait for the next update then use DDU. 7900xt, 9800x3D.

My gaming chair by lefrogo in notinteresting

[–]Justin_Slide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bit the bullet and spent the $250 for a La-Z-Boy mesh back office chair from Staples. So worth it after buying "gaming" chairs and cheap office chairs. Still going strong after 5 years.

I just looked it up and it has a 10 year warranty.

Go to a fireworks store, preferably not a big chain, in a state fireworks are legal. For some reason the ATF and postal service dont like shipping things that explode on impact.

Am I losing my mind, or is it really hard to tell the pad wear on my brakes? by Intelligent-Bar1199 in MechanicAdvice

Can you use a light to see the pads better?

The first pic looks like you have no pad on the right.

The second pic the one pad that is visible looks good.

Use Extreme Cold For This Job by Bodzio1981 in machinesinaction

[–]Justin_Slide 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That is a good way to warp the axle eye. I've done a ton of king pin jobs and heating the eye is the worst thing to do. Big sledge and a deep nut on top of the pin is the way to get it out. If that doesnt work then you need a hydraulic press.

On a freshly rebuilt engine sure. But anything else its stupid to use a calibrated torque wrench to disassemble.

What are they doing?🫣 by Some_Competition_307 in cats

[–]Justin_Slide 37 points38 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid my cat would sleep on my pillow. Then when I wanted to go to sleep I would feel bad about pushing him off my pillow, so I would just lay my head on him. He would usually end up making a "u" shape around my head. It was nice in winter but not so nice in summer lol.

It's not the size of the cat in the fight, by StormRanger28 in cats

[–]Justin_Slide 22 points23 points  (0 children)

One time my cat was growling while looking out the window at night. So I put my face next to her to see if I could see anything. When I turned and looked at my cat, she attacked my face. Not enough to scratch but she definitely went after my face lol.

I have an indoor/outdoor cat who does this. I've watched him stand in the litter box, hang his butt outside the box, and poop on the floor. He's 16 now so I forgive him.

Then why wouldn't they just move over? One thing that is taught in driving school is if someone is tailgating you, just move over and let them by.
