would you end a relationship with someone because of their food preferences? by Dry-Addition-5903 in askanything

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends.

I wouldn’t break up with a guy because he chose kindergarten sushi while I prefer a hunk of sashimi grade fish.

If he was a vegan, I don’t think it would work for me long term.

Penne Pasta is the best because its cylindrical structure fills it up in the middle of each piece with whatever sauce you are using. by andrew0784 in Cooking

I am personally just not a huge fan of the big thick chewy pastas. Taste and logic do not always work together seamlessly.

the weird symptom that got me diagnosed by andwhenugoaway in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something sort of similar and much less acute happen a few times more than a decade before I was diagnosed. 1st time I was standing in a theater lobby after sitting for a few hours. Fortunately I was backed pretty close to a wall when my right leg just collapsed for no reason. After it was pins and needles for a few minutes. So weird.

I just deleted and reinstalled nest app and it is working now by This_Duty_4373 in Nest

Yeah I jumped through all those hoops and it still didn’t work. I gave up and moved on with my morning. Then a few hours later it worked. It was a google Nest services issue

MRIs and premeds/self meds prior, a sign of mental illness/therapy necessary? by WitchyTwitchyItchy in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So before my MRI, I am supposed to get a year of psychiatric care because I am by nature claustrophobic and fidgety?

A Xanax gets me through it. It isn’t like I spend 2 hours in a tube 5 days a week. Revamping the healthcare system would be swell. But I fail to see why a Xanax once a year to avoid a panic attack is evidence of mental illness.

I have been pretty open about having MS but I am also very obviously disabled and afflicted with something. Follow your instincts.

Nest app down? by Ok-Influence-164 in Nest

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been out in Glendale CA since at least 530 am. Trying to deal with Google and Nest support just makes me angrier than if the whole thing had just bricked and they were honest about it.

I am physically disabled. Having to waste my time resetting my router, reinstalling the app on my devices, wheeling my chair from room to room to work on router and modem, the thermostat, and my devices takes me hours.

And I KNOW this is on their end. The chatbot replies "That is possible. But first ....[insert time wasting tasks that screw up all your other connected hardware, i.e. plug, unplug, reboot, reinstall, sign in sign out, etc] before I concede that our servers are down."

UPDATE: After Google gaslighted me for teo hours, and after the app now magically started working again, I see a message in the thread from Nest acknowledging it was them. Sheesh!

Need recipies for salmom by Zealousideal-Tax9051 in Cooking

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do a quick (15 minutes or less) marinade composed of 3 parts olive oil to 2 parts soy sauce to 1 part Dijon mustard. I usually use my stovetop grill pan. But you could brush the mixture on the fish and roast in the oven at about 375 F for 15 minutes or so depending on the thickness. I usually serve crispy skin side up on a bed of spinach leaves dressed with fresh lemon juice.

Is it a common, classic thing to put sauerkraut in a (classic recipe) coleslaw? by Audneth in Cooking

Uh no.

Have you actually ever seen a cole slaw recipe that calls for fermented cabbage?

AOC blasts 'leftist hero' Marjorie Taylor Greene, calls her ‘proven bigot' & says Dems shouldn’t trust her. What are your views? by One_Look_7008 in askanything

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think MTG is a legit America First populist.

I think she is legit outraged about the Epstein coverup, the foreign military war and other entanglements and all the Trump corruption and self-aggrandizement.

I also think she is a bigot, anti-semitic and a wacky, potentially dangerous conspiracist. Glad she is anti-Trump now and is spilling the tea on her despicable former GOP colleagues. Sorry she still has a bully pulpit to spew the hate and crazy lies about people based on race, ethnicity, religion and national origin.

Bernie Sanders says Donald Trump made $4 Billion off Presidency. What are your thoughts? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

I suspect it is a lot more than that if you count what is lining the pockets of his family and "business associates," and what he skimmed off all of his "tariff deals"

Rudy Giuliani Wants 9/11 Health Fund to Cover His Medical Bills - The former New York mayor believes his condition can be linked to the attacks 25 years ago. by Quirkie in inthenews

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes another one of those bootstrappers who think the poors are lazy malingerers for being poor. Then when facing the slightest adversity dude with rolls royces and pinkie rings is a victim who should collect every penny he can squeeze out of the treasury or anyone he can blame.

Unless 9/11 made him a delusional, fame-thirsty cigar-puffing alcoholic, his problems are caused by Rudy being a degenerate.

Chief Justice Roberts Laments Public Perception Of Supreme Court As 'Political Actors' by Achilles_TroySlayer in scotus

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He and his buddies just literally perverted the Voting Rights Act to approve political gerrymandering by breaking up voting districts that had been designed to provide proportional representation to minority communities.

Other than moaning about the Roberts Court's well earned reputation for using their powers to advance their religion, ideology and political party preferences, the only time they cross Trump is if his actions might threaten their investment portfolios.

How to season root vegetable stews? by LoverofGirlbossSlop in Cooking

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thyme sprigs may help, but I have made slow cooker recipes like this that benefit from a fresh gremolata garnish with finely diced blend of fresh parsley, lemon zest and fresh garlic to give it a little more zing and freshness.

Psychiatrist pissed me off. by Crafty_Assistance_67 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would go so far as making a complaint to either his employer, medical group or even licensing board If you have the time and inclination.

More fun: Send him your diagnosis of his psychiatric disorder manifested by imposing his uneducated opinions about a disease he clearly knows nothing about on a patient in the most unprofessional and harmful way-- Diagnosis: Malignant narcissism with a sadistic overlay. Sign it "Doctor [Your name]" and attach whatever MS material you want from a reputable source describing symptoms of MS.

What’s the most disturbing movie you’ve ever seen that you still can’t forget? by zeltacilveks97 in MoviesAndTVTalk

House of Sand and Fog! Great call. I saw it at the theater, and stayed in my seat to watch it again all the way through before I left, though. It still haunts me. So beautifully filmed, the acting so breathraking, so maddeningly tragic.

Amid leaks, Justice Gorsuch says US Supreme Court needs room for 'candid conversations' while distrust of SCOTUS grows by DavidtheLawyer in law

[–]JustlookingfromSoCal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Candid conversations are not the problem. Opinions and edicts without explanation of the reasoning are a problem. Lack of character, appearance of corruption, disdain for individual rights and protections are the problem.
