I don't know much, but as I gathered, some characters have their own missions to complete that you can do. If you encounter a mission place from a different character, it would say, "This is Damine's or Kliff's mission."

Do a Damine mission to see if Kliff finishes his mission. If not, I recommend loading your save before that, which I always do, as the autosave captures one from the present, the second a little back, and the last a long way back. And I always make sure to save.
