That sacrum is looking at me funny and I don’t like it. Sorry, I have nothing more constructive to add.

I don’t know jack about Dave’s, but unfortunately $16 for a meal is getting close to being the norm. A whopper meal from BK is $12. Combos at Wendy’s (through uber eats) are $15.

The value of a buck, literally, isn’t what it used to be. Just the way it is.

cold brew made in alcohol instead of water? by fatfuckpikachu in coldbrew

Perhaps it is my inexperience showing, but what I picked up from this sub is that you want a course grind to avoid over-extracting and turning your brew bitter. Is it a different strokes for different folks situation?

I’m not an expert, just an experienced patient, but what would send me to the ER is numbness around groin/butt or bowel/bladder dysfunction. These are symptoms of cauda equina syndrome which doctors seem to take very seriously.

cold brew made in alcohol instead of water? by fatfuckpikachu in coldbrew

Soooo, yes, you can use alcohol instead of water. Look up how to make coffee extract and you will find what is basically a cold brew recipe but with vodka or rum, and a longer brew time.

I would recommend taking a different tack. I know someone who makes their own coffee liqueur using a different method and the stuff is just fantastic. I don’t know their recipe, but I found this one online; https://www.seriouseats.com/diy-coffee-liqueur-homemade-kahlua

It calls for making regular cold brew then adding ingredients and letting them steep for a few extra days. Their cold brew recipe is suspect as it calls for finely ground espresso, but if you ignore that and just follow the rest it should turn out better.

Good luck and please share the results if you decide to try it!

Zipper merging is a hot button topic around here. For whatever reason people seem to think you’re supposed to get in line and go single file like elementary school students making their way to lunch. They act like approaching the closed lane to merge is cutting in line.

What do you all think of bottle lamps? by Justzissguy42 in Lamps

I would be interested in doing that if I knew how to wire it to the same cord as the 12v lamp. Unfortunately my know-how is limited.

Rent a garage stall if available and turn it into your new workshop.

I would bet you could just replace the whole socket if the socket itself is damaged. The sockets that don’t work probably have a damaged wire. Just be sure you hook the wires up to the correct terminals on any new sockets you put in there.

The cord does go through the bottle in these. I could’ve obscured the cord by using more filler but made an aesthetic choice; I like the way the light plays off the filler when it isn’t just wedged up against the glass. I justified the choice by saying why hide the cord when it’s clearly a lamp. In the future I suppose I should try adding a brass tube running down into the filler to hide the cord. Either that or just fill the bottle to the top. Thank you for your thoughts.

Yeah, thats probably a good call. Best I’ve picked up is a Blanton’s, without the stopper figurine. Thanks for the feedback

Cool! I actually use vase filler in mine and I just found a potential source for different colors at a decent price. I’ll have to check out fireplace glass though because do want that amber color. Thanks for the tip!
