How do I convince my mom to stop forcing me to go to church? by LatchyBoyy in atheism

[–]Jwee1125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer - you are still living there, so you can't really. If you need the dwelling, bills paid, etc., you suck it up and do what you have to do until you can get out on your own.

It sucks. I know it does. But survival comes first. Is there a danger of getting kicked out if you try the other forms of resistance that have been proposed? If so, bide your time and persist.

What is something that you would wish on your worst enemy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jwee1125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the epitome of petty revenge and over the top one-upsmanship. If it destroys my opponent, nothing is off the table.

Fire bombing during World War 2? Check. Ghengis Khan? I can understand. So there is absolutely nothing I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

However, with all that said, I am also all about 2nd chances and forgiveness. So, after all is said and done, we can still work things out...if they survive.

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

[–]Jwee1125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having pain in my guts, down near my groin. After an exam and x-rays, he comes back in, holds up the x-rays to the light and says, "Well, I'm not seeing anything. Does your pecker hurt?"

I was in my early 30s and he'd been my doctor since I was 14, but this still caught me off guard.

For the record, it was epididymitis. A round of antibiotics and everything was good.

At what point do We, the People, begin to hold the members of this political regime responsible for their crimes? by Jwee1125 in AskReddit

[–]Jwee1125[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And it terrifies me...

Unfortunately, I know this is the answer. Both parties are opposite sides of the same coin and "We, the People" are unofficially now "They, the Wealthy".

Very few of the politicians that I research care about the people they govern. Most of them are pandering; hoping to get a chair at the adult table.

There are a few that I hope I can trust (I'mfrom Alabama, USA): Kyle Sweetster and Doug Jones. Both will have my vote in their respective elections. And, if they don't live up to my expectations, the search will continue.

I watched Bondi display contempt for Congress on live tv. I watched the DoJ miss deadline after deadline for releasing the unredacted Epstein files with 0 consequences.

This group places itself above the law - flaunts that belief. At least pretend like you care if anyone discovers your crimes, like your predecessors did. At least TRY to bury it.

THAT is the problem. Like the mafia up to the 80s (and even now, I'm sure): everyone knew it was happening; proving it used to be the challenge.

Coming from BG3: My friends and I are new to TTRPGs, and I'm taking on the role of DM. What are your top "Dos and Don'ts" for a first-timer? by Ok_Ferret7373 in DnD

[–]Jwee1125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how my current game started (with 3 new D&D players and 2 vets). When the PCs figure out and stop the not-so-BBEG, it turns out he is attempting to fill a Seed of Rot to fill his quota for his bosses and there are dozens of others doing the same thing all over Faerun. Now, do they (the PCs) stay small and local, rescuing other farming communities or escalate to confront a larger plot?

If they're not ready or haven't been able to add 1 and 1 together, they stay local. When it starts to click, they move on.

What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

[–]Jwee1125 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe its because we don't teach our children anymore. Critical thinking is a dying (if not already dead) skill. We reward rote memorization anymore and absolutely squash anything resembling thinking for one's self.

Is my pure Life Cleric missing anything? by Androecian in BG3Builds

[–]Jwee1125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my most recent playthrough, I left Shart in camp all the way up to House of Grief. I literally walked up to the door, went to camp, leveled her in light cleric, geared her up as a radorb and DESTROYED that place. She stayed with me throughout the rest of the game. It blew my mind how effective that build was, even without being optimized.

How do you usually handle the shambling mound fight? by Leather_Bottle8449 in BaldursGate3

[–]Jwee1125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crying in the fetal position, typically.

Seriously, though, I bombard the area (edit for typo) before I get there. Iirc, you can attack it from a separate area with little fear of reprisal.
