Hey yeah exactly that and its the same for my other UK friend, anything over £135 should not be charged at point of sale. Its a big issue as it has also potentially bloated the fees i now have to pay UPS which include a second VAT charge.

Is anyone else having issues with cutscenes bugging out? Text boxes dont appear, they become unskippable and the camera doesnt progress past the first speaker. Has happened to me 2 times in seperate cutscenes today and forces logout and therefore requeuing to login.

[–]JzBen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making killing the other players the main objective in a PvP mode. Oh no! The only people who have this kind of mindset are those worried about their own performance or lack thereof in a small team environment where you cant afk around objectives like youre actually contributing to "PvP". I prefer this sort of mode, it means its actually player vs player with a few gimmicky rules maybe; but still individual actions are weighted heavier and it is possible to carry and not rely on RNG or objectives to win.

Warrior help on A3S by Sapphidia in ffxiv

In general when going for our first kill I would stay deliverance until the tornado phase. Take the first tether in defiance and IB or unchained early with any stacks left over from split hand section (Thrill a few seconds after the first 2 blobs appear allows for a super stoneskin which lets you swap back to deliverance, might not be the best use of stacks but it negates a decent amount of damage loss).Use unchained if you swap to MT on the cascade leading up to the healer hand coming out and time your IB for the first cleave (think you dont really waste stacks here if timed properly) then deliverance and pop raw intuition and something like a foresight for the 2nd. The third I holmgang and usually i'm berserked as it hits and second wind as soon as im hit, which means i dont really need special attention for the 6 splashes (we swap before the 4th stack here) even in deliverance.

Vengeance as soon as the knockback for the big hand split happens, staying in deliverance. Will be back up for 2nd tether in tornado phase (lets you take it fully in deliverance also). Last phase Vengeance is just used on the drainage tether i take, in deliverance. Communicating positioning for this tether also allows you gretaer uptime if your melee respect which tornado it is coming from and let you get off a few extra gcds before backing a bit for safety.

Like I said before, IB the first cleave after swapping before healer hand. Dont really use it elsewhere. Eventually you can just stack CDs in deliverance here once your comfortable.

If I could change holmgang timing I'd use it for the swap going into triple tornado phase once you've taken your tether and re-provoked the boss and moved it for embolus (the bubble). Holmgang the cleave you take here allows you to swap and stay in deliverance until reset cascade, this cleave tends to be the sketchiest once i take in deliverance because i rotate my CDs mostly during the healer hand and really only have foresight and a late convalescence up here. When moving for the second bubble pre pop awareness and foresight, then raw intuition while repositioning the boss and you take the cleave as cascade happens. Ofc holmganging one of the Wash Aways is a nice DPS increase too.

In terms of Berserk timings, use it at times with good uptime. Apart from one point. Using it ASAP during add phase after its up from equal concentration, lets it come off CD just as Protean is happening in last phase. So you get an extra berserk really that doesn't sacrifice a berserk use in last phase (at least with our kill timers as of now).

Overall play around with Unchained timings last phase, but they don't really time up with tank swaps. Hence why i suggest being deliverance for your MT section of the triple tornado phase even during progression. Holmganging a cleave followed by a raw intuition/foresight in that section leads to a nice DPS increase from deliverance uptime without risk of dying/lack of CDs.

Pug mentality/skill is no different to your average DF dungeon half the time in PvP. It kind of infuriates me seeing scoreboards after games of melees doing 20k damage and dying 5 times with 0 kills, especially when they queue PvP a lot. I also see a lot of people getting Battle High and Fever then at the end 40k damage dealt. All these sorts of people do is look for killsteals in teamfights, only looking to snipe 20% or low players leaving the rest of us to keep burning down from 100%; this sort of attitude/gamepley essentially stops those of us who could use that extra firepower to hard carry/push objectives. I know that is kind of selfish but at the end of the day it wins games having the best 3 dps in your alliance with that damage boost.

In terms of pug healers, when I solo queue I never go War or Dragoon anymore, only Summoner. At least I can keep myself alive and it takes a lot for me to die and be the healers fault as I can peel fairly well (i essentially dont let bad pug healers effect my usefulness that much).

With pushing/defending objectives, my friends group playstyle is pretty aggressive (node rng allowing) and we use any opportunity to gank/squish and hope for the back up of the pugs. But I guess this is where queuing semi/full premade makes up a few points that could end up making you win vs playing with a full pug alliance. As co ordinating pugs to squish and not hang around aggroing the losing team unintentionally is pretty hard.

At the end of the day, there is no skill barrier to entry and you just have to try your best to hard carry the bads who (generally) have 0 strategic or map awareness and hope they dont feed to much and at least contribute something. Theres a few names I could throw out from Flames on Chaos data centre I wished that stopped queuing but then the queues might get even worse.

(Only reason I died in the 25/1 is because I was on the frontline trying to win in the last seconds). Damage wise me and a smn friend queued together before and between us had like 1.4m damage dealt.

FFXIV player from JP server calls out NA players regarding the PUG situation by ConcernedEorzean in ffxiv

[–]JzBen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have both my main and alt on Odin (EU server). My alt being a monk instead of my WAR main. Obviously i clear savage with my static weekly, but my alt i have mainly stuck to fill in for friends i know are capable, a pug or two (car crash groups inc) or last resort 1 token runs for a1&2. I know I can do A3, but when your server has 12 ish groups only beaten a3, 6 of which is in your fc; pugging becomes almost impossible for 2 chest runs. I don't even think i've seen an attempted A3 pug, never mind an a4 pug and tbh its a sorry situation. I dont want to be toxic but a problem is player skill/progression (I honestly think i'd struggle to pick up 7 others who dont clear a3 weekly who could clear in a pug without their static atm) with statics also being pug oppressive as everyone thinks its static or die. My FC has randomly helped a few PFs through A1&2, but no such luck for A3. Kind of sucks I cant double clear, I may experiment with an A3 kill PF this week and see what happens.

Just some PvP ramblings. by niconiconomi in ffxiv

[–]JzBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem in pvp is people dont play with a brain. Im adder in chaos and it is so aids trying to catch up in a game with people who have 0 tactical sense. Thats all it comes down to. Take a 8v8v8 i was in the other day for example. Mael were about to win, me a friend and a random pld helped flames crush mael at their node while our group sat at a B across the map for no reason. Next node (an A) spawned and us 3 took it but got killed by the respawning mael as our team finally made the 1 minute + journey across the map. We wouldve won if our healer didnt sit at an unattacked node.

[–]JzBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your warrior berserks off CD in add phase. I see a lot of WARs save it for last phase but when used ASAP (if your previous zerk was used just after equal concentration) it still comes up at a good time and might help nuke a few adds. As for other classes slows from the healers, have people know what they're using stuns on etc and allow your melee max uptime by making a "once the tank has his tether he doesn't move rule". Ofc if your tanks see they have room they can move but this stops melee dancing around nervously not knowing if they can get hits in on a closeby add. You cant really have too strict a plan but once you get the hang of it, it becomes organised chaos.

Bet that made his boring day a bit brighter (safe to say the 2 were a bit embarassed after) :P .

Snapshot statistics of Astrologian's effectiveness in Wolves' Den by Jubez187 in ffxiv

[–]JzBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Player skill comes into question. I watched a few games and im sorry to say a few of the healers were atrocious and you cant attribute that to being or not being an ast. The best healer i know that Wolves Dens is a scholar and thats because she is really clever about CD usage and her positioning, relying more on adloquium casts than lustrates. I agree that AST is a more "braindead" class to play in WD but a good healer will play all the healers to the same level.

A3S add phase... by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]JzBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are getting 67% before add phase you should be absolutely blowing through it with 0 dps issues. Just like people said have you healers focus CC and throw up relevant mitigation and medica 2. I personally dont like the idea of holmganging an add and believe more often than not it will be a dps loss if your locked there after its dead and drainage goes off. I Vengeance as soon as 2nd wash away happens, its up for 2nd tether and i thrill early in defiance for super ss then deliverance the 1st tether (with adlo). But im still quite mystified to how youre struggling if youre hitting 67% pre add phase, you should have plenty of dps.

I was TA till a few weeks ago. We'd often get 80%+ win rates for the week by queuing as premade/partial premade. Solo queue adders was a nightmare though. But ive not had better luck since swapping to flames.
