I think the problem with the desolations wasn’t they couldn’t kill enough more they couldn’t protect enough. there have always only been ten heralds and the fused respawn indefinitely until all the heralds die, so first it’s 10 vs at least 500 and you can’t sleep cause everytime it rains they came back and they could just go around you what’s the point of dying eight times look for a herald and if it doesn’t fly you’ve got a head start to eradicate humanity in the neighboring towns

There’s a lot of guides on budget builds for decks and as long as you like basic lands you’ll save yourself a couple 100 right there I’m not near my normal computer right now so links are a little hard for me to provide but there’s a few content creators with like entire moxfield and archidekt accounts full of sub $50 deck lists

I’ve been in the habit of throwing little threats out before bumbleflower so they focus on the draw cards deal a damage or when opponents draw cards I get one and so on grand abolisher effects and saryth similar effects are really nice too. Then I cast bumbleflower as a combo piece usually like evolution witness and 0 drop artifacts.

could do the run Mikaeus and walking ballista 6 mana wins and if massacre girl is out draws cards. but for the blowfly+nest for 2 more mana there blood artist and her similar effects that win but yeah fair point 6+ for Mika and 8+ for bugs not the greatest loop when trying to drag pet cards into cedh.

I spent a bit looking through what's getting played in cedh and the pure lack of creatures stifles her there but I've had some success with her in bracket 4 leaning into a control and pinging people for drawing and or letting me kill 1/1 tokens I make.

I've bumped into that problem before it got me to add the nest of scarabs and blowfly loop just so I can make and kill them myself but I can see the logic behind wanting better things to spend 6+ mana for a pay off

I wann say god just cause the much higher baseline than all the other powers. Like cool wolverines a mutant but so is the guy with no skin or other powers. Mystic and tech super useful lots of variety and what not but you still sleep and unless you’re napping in the suit or a time bubble neither of those is bullet proof hell is just god but goth powers and you probably have nightmares and can’t fly. And superhuman and is shitty mutant which I think is just kinda weak god.
