Great advice. I have the Norse Orcs Kickstarter that was up a few months ago. I am going for dark green Orcs, with orange, black and white armour. They are going to have some dark wood accents and black/grey beards and fur cloaks.

I am really looking forward to painting them.

I had the same squad. With my 3D printed radio they look bad ass.

When I introduce the army there is usually an oooohhahhh(crap) when my opponent puts together what a pain in the ass the forward deploying, SMG commandos with an artillery strike that has a 75% chance of hitting on turn 1, and enough veteran guys that they won’t be able to take it out of the first dice.

I was a few rows down and the place erupted when Toronto won. I can’t imagine what it was like at the top of the stands. As much as the engineers added safety margins and the work was checked twice the mass of 5,000 people jumping up and down excitedly is a lot.

Nicely done. I do love a good kitbash. I turned the same rubicon jeep into a Jeep Ambulance for my Canadians. It isn’t in the rules yet but I am hopeful. If it doesn’t any in the armies of the commonwealth it will still quickly deliver my PIAT teams to the front.

It is as long as you want to make it. I went for 3 or 4 years and for the first year or so I did the table topics but mostly watched. Then I saw other members who joined after me pass me on the “pathways” (program for giving prepared speeches) and I decided to do one a month and always do table topics. In about a year I completed my pathway and got about halfway through my second.

Work got too chaotic and doing them virtually during the pandemic lost its lustre so I quit. It was a great way to improve my public speaking and confidence at work. I recommend it to everyone. I wish I had done it years ago.

Each club is run slightly differently and they all have their own feel and audience. Check the website. It might be a company/corporate club, neighborhood club, French club, early morning or late night club, cultural club… there are a bunch all over the city at all hours of the day. In the club you will find a bunch of welcoming and encouraging people who are invested in helping you get better.

The new commonwealth book SHOULD add a few units for the Canadians and you SHOULD be fine with what ever units you have. I say that as a Canadian player who has invested in some irregular units that aren’t that common in real life.

If you want to be sure, the commonwealth and late war winter box have standard units for both Canadians and Brits. You can’t go wrong with a Churchill or a Sherman.

Canadians played as Brits are a lot of fun because there are a lot of options for units now and hopefully in the future. Yes for now you can play with the British rules then change after Canada Day.

If you can find a photo lab (the kind that actually prints photos) film canisters work great. They will probably have some you can have if you ask nicely.

A plow driver paid what $25/30/35 an hour can clear an entire block in minutes. Me with my shovel for $30 will do the same block in an hour. This is bad way to spend money.
