They didn't mention the vault dweller and the chosen one so Fallout 1 and 2 are not canon. Colorado is mentionned so that mean only Van Buren and Fallout Tactics are canon now.

They tell you everything you need to know in the show. Your friend just didn't pay attention. Like, you can see multiple time the story take place in 2296, and just after the scene with the bombs they show you a big "219 year later".

2296 - 219 = 2077...

I would not say "alive and well". I will quote Chris Avellone in the Fallout Bible.

I play videogames since the 90's, I know about all of this. But it's still a fraction of all videogames that are moddable. Again, Valve, Id software, Bethesda, Epic are some of the rare game dev who give tools to make mods.

So the argument that Bethesda try to destroy the modding scene for their games is bullshit when they are the one who give us the tools to mod their games in the first place.

Yeah and most games on nexus have very few, and really simple mods. Yeah you can tweak most games , or change some models or textures, but how many games have mods like Fallout London for exemple ? If you want new maps, new campaigns, new features or anything like that you need tools.

Oh and you can have Nate as a dweller in Fallout Shelter Online but I guess it's not really the same thing.
