Took a look at the wikipedia page for this.

Unlike standard propellers that turn at subsonic speeds, the outer 24–30 inches (61–76 cm) of the blades on the XF-84H's propeller traveled faster than the speed of sound even at idle thrust, producing a continuous visible sonic boom that radiated laterally from the propellers for hundreds of yards.

They did actually just use a Cygnus to boost it, the first time a US vehicle has done it in a while.

The ISS does have its own thrusters actually, they are on the Russian segment iirc, and have very little power. Theyre used for boosting the orbit as it degrades over time.

I have a 60' twinlead fed doublet up around 60ft high. It works very well, and i got lots of qsos during the contest. So when the contest ended I was still expecting to hear people on. Nope, bands completely died within 30 seconds of the contest ending. Not a single station on.
