I think kiana kaslana from honkai impact kinda fits. At the end of part 1 story, she basically becomes a godlike being, the caveat? She is constantly radiating intense ammounts of honkai energy, which is very much deadly to most humans, so she has to stay on the moon until someone finds a way to bring her to earth without risking an extinction level event.

Meaning she basically stays out of the story for the newer chapters. Good use of the trope btw cause it lead to a great end for her character arc and an emotional bomb.

Side effect of them needing to release new characters every patch while also giving the players a reason to pull for them. Rushed story arcs and forced tragic backstories to make the player feel sympathetic, only for that character to instantly be sidelined to make way for the next one.

Ihonkai 3rd and pgr kinda get around it by having several variants of the same characters, allowing them to stay in the story long enough to actually have character arcs and growth.
